Bylaws




ARTICLE I – NAME


The name of this organization is WILDWOOD NINERS.


ARTICLE II – PURPOSE


The purposes of the club are to

1.   Participate and improve in the game of golf.

2.   Promote the rules and etiquette of golf.

3.   Conduct tournaments within the club.


ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP


Any woman member of Lake Wildwood Association is eligible for membership.


1.   A prospective member is allowed to play golf on one play day as a guest prior to fulfilling the requirements for membership.

2.   A prospective member will provide 10 scorecards played on Lake Wildwood golf course, preferably five on the front nine and five on the back nine. Cards must be dated and attested by an individual having a valid handicap. These cards must be presented before the day of the orientation meeting and dues must be paid by that time. These ten cards will be used to establish a temporary handicap. A permanent handicap is established after 20 games have been recorded.

3.   A permanent handicap is required for the following events: TEAM PLAY, WNHGA OPEN DAYS, ECLECTIC, WILDWOOD NINERS INVITATIONAL, CAPTAIN’S TROPHY, LOW NET TROPHY, AND CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT.

4.   A new member transferring from one WNHGA club to another will have her handicap transferred.

5.   A former member who wishes to rejoin the Wildwood Niners must re-establish her handicap if her dues have not been paid within the last three months.

6.   This Club allows social membership for members who wish to retain membership in the club. They are allowed such membership at the reduced annual rate as determined by the Executive Board. Social members do not have voting privileges, nor are they permitted to play in any of the Club’s tournaments. Social membership must be approved by the Executive Board.

7.   A member of Wildwood Niners cannot be an active member of any women’s 18-hole golf club where WNHGA has a 9-hole group.

Any member joining the Lake Wildwood Women’s Golf Club will relinquish her paid dues and all social activities pertaining to the Wildwood Niners.

 

8.   A member of any 18-hole golf club must relinquish her membership in that club before joining the Wildwood Niners. Her starting handicap will be one half of 90% of her 18-hole handicap.

 

ARTICLE IV – DUES

 

Annual dues are determined by the Executive Board and approved by a vote of the membership.

 

1.   Dues are payable to the Treasurer by October 31 in order for a member to be listed in the roster. There will be a $10.00 reinstatement fee if dues are not paid by December 1 of each year.

2.   Dues are non-refundable.

3.   Dues will be prorated on a six-month basis only.


ARTICLE V – MEETINGS


1.   General membership meeting will be held the third Tuesday of each month unless notified.

2.   A quorum to transact business will be 25% of the general membership.

3.   Executive Board meeting will be called at the discretion of the Captain.

4.   A quorum to transact business of the Executive Board will be five members.



ARTICLE VI – BUDGET


1.   The Captain will post a budget for the operating year January 1st through December 31st.

2.   The budget will be subject to revision and approval by the members.


ARTICLE VII – TOURNAMENTS


1.   To qualify for the Captain’s Trophy, Club Championship and annual Low Net Trophy, a member must have a permanent handicap and have played five weekly play days within a three-month period.

2.   A Low Gross winner and a Low Net winner will be determined first and will be eliminated from winning flight places.

3.   At least 10% of membership must complete scheduled play if it is to be a valid tournament with payment sweeps.


ARTICLE VIII – NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS


1.   In September a Nominating Committee of five, appointed by the Executive Board, will nominate officers for the following year.

2.   A list of candidates will be posted on the bulletin board.

3.   General election will be held in October.

4.   Nominations will be open from the floor before a ballot is taken.

A secret ballot will be taken if there is more than one candidate.

 

ARTICLE IX – OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES


1.   Wildwood Niners’ Executive Board serves from January 1st through December 31st.

a.   The executive Board will direct the policies of the Wildwood Niners.

b.   The elected officers are: Captain, Co-Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Chair, Tournament Chairs, Membership Chair and Rules Chair.

2.   The Standing Committee Chairs will be appointed by the Captain: Bulletin Board Coordinator, Friendship, Historian, Luncheon, Publicity, Team Play, Roster, Telephone, WNHGA Delegate and Golf Committee Delegate.

a.   The Standing Committee Chairs have no vote on the Executive Board.

b.   The past Captain will be Parliamentarian/Advisor and has no vote on the Executive Board


ARTICLE X – PARLIAMENTARY LAW


Robert’s Rules of Order will govern all questions not specified in the By-Laws.


ARTICLE XI – AMENDMENTS


1.   Amendments to the By-laws will be presented in writing to the general membership.

2.   The proposed amendments will be posted two weeks prior to the next meeting.

A majority vote of the members present will amend the By-laws.
