Golf Cart Rules
General
LWA Rule 7.10.30 defines golf cart access for a cart without a handicap flag and Rule 7.10.35 defines golf cart access for a cart with a handicap flag. Each of these rules is presented in detail after the following summary of rules.
-------------------------
There are certain holes and certain locations on every hole where golf carts are not allowed.
• Golf carts around greens
► No golf carts are allowed on any green.
► For carts without a handicap flag, cart signs (Carts >) define a boundary behind which carts must stay.
► Carts with a handicap flag shall not operate closer than 30 feet (10 yards) of a green or green side bunker.
• Golf carts are not allowed on any tee.
Access to certain holes and hole locations is controlled by colored flags.
• Hole Restrictions - Green Flag flying
► Golf carts without a handicap flag are not allowed anywhere on holes #1, #3, #4, #9, #10 and #16 and on #4 from the creek to the rise beyond the bridge.
► Golf carts with a handicap flag are not allowed anywhere on hole #4 from the creek to the rise beyond the bridge, #8 from the creek to the green, #9 and #14 from the creek to the green.
• Hole Restrictions - Red & White Flag Flying
► Golf carts without a handicap flag are not allowed access to the course.
► Golf carts with a handicap flag are not allowed anywhere on holes #1, #3, #4 from the creek to the rise beyond the bridge, #8 from the creek to the green, #9, #14 from the creek to the green and #16.
At various times, due to different conditions such as weather, entire holes or portions of holes may have restrictions on golf cart usage. These will be noted with signs stating No Carts. Subsequently, there may be a sign indicating that it is permissible to again use carts on the hole; if not, the prohibition applies to the entire hole. In these cases, all carts are prohibited unless there is a sign stating Handicap OK.
Finally, there are three cart path sections on which golf carts are not permitted to be used, in either direction, except by people playing golf, i.e. these paths are not to be used for travel to or from the Clubhouse. These are the paths for #2, #9 and #10 and they are clearly marked with green and white signs stating, “No cart access to or from Proshop/Clubhouse”
