East Windsor-Hightstown
League of Women Voters

WELCOME TO THE NEWEST WEBSITE OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS!

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization, encouraging the informed and active participation of citizens in government, working to increase the understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.

Issue-oriented, the League does not support or endorse any political party or candidate.

The League of Women Voters is a national organization that arose in 1920 from the women's suffrage movement. It operates on a national, state, and local level. Members examine issues and the League takes action based on the votes of its grass roots membership.

The League's all-encompassing goal is the education of the public on issues and on the importance of each citizen's involvement in the political process in order for democracy to work. For more information on the principles governing the LWV, go to http://www.lwv.org/about/principles.html.

This website is intended to provide information concerning our local League and community, as well as links to the state and national League. Inside our site, you will also find invaluable sources to information at the local, state, and national levels.
