- Managing Volunteerism in the Immigrant Settlement and Integration Sector.
Assistant Project Manager. This project is being undertaken for the Ministry of Muliculturalism and Immigration. With the research team leader, I developed the project overview,
contact letters, survey instruments and key informant interview guides. I was responsible for administering those surveys and analyzing the results and for conducting key informant interviews. This project will culminate in a final report that will include a policy framework for MMI and supplemental reports based on the survey results.
- Opening Opportunities: Applying the STIC Model in BC. Assistant Project Manager. Undertaken for MOSAIC and the Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration, this project examined the Ontario Sector-Specific Orientation, Terminology Training, Information and Counselling (STIC) program and evaluated the viability of such a project in BC. I had primary responsibility for most of the work of this project, including participating in all meetings, developing a project overview and key informant interview guide, conducting key informant interviews, collecting analyzing data and writing the final
report.
- On Track: Building on the Past for the Future. An Evaluation of the Creative Employment Options Program. I reviewed surveys and conducted key informant interviews with
managers, staff and participants of Neil Squire Foundation's CEO program for people with disabilities. I participated in all meetings and had primary responsibility for the final report.
- Looking Ahead: Planning for the Labour Market Integration of Immigrants in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley Regions of BC (1999). Assistant Project Manager.
I organized and conducted interviews and focus group meetings and contributed to the project’s working papers, environmental scan and final report.
- Unfulfilled Expectations, Missed Opportunities: Poverty among Immigrants and Refugees
in British Columbia (1998). I conducted interviews with immigrants and organizations
regarding the situation and needs of immigrants in BC. I also helped prepare, administer
and analyze a survey of immigrants and refugees and contributed to the final report.
- Making Welfare Work: Social Assistance in First Nations Communities (1998).
For this project, I did a literature review and helped write the final report.
- Pulling it All Together: An Approach for Integrated Planning in First Nations Communities (1998). I did a literature review and helped write the final report.
- Enhancing Opportunity: Meeting the Employment Training Needs of Recent Immigrants to British Columbia (1997). I conducted interviews with various employers and organizations regarding the employment needs of recent immigrants to BC. I was also involved in writing the final report.
- Evaluation of the First Nations/Inuit Child Care Initiative (1997). My work with this evaluation included organizing and conducting interviews with community
members, parents and day care developers, planners, administrators and workers. I also assisted with administering and analyzing parent surveys.

- Organized, coordinated and/or conducted research into a variety of breast implants issues, including: testing and treatment options for women suffering from breast implant related illness; current research; Health Canada, FDA and manufacturer policies; composition of breast implants; and alternatives for women who want reconstruction or who want to replace their current implants.
- Initiated and designed two research projects which are now receiving funding from the BC Centre of Excellence for Women’s Health.
- Helped organize and presented the keynote address at the Breast Implant Conference in June, 1997.
- Designed the framework for and am now establishing a registry for women with breast implants.
- Prepared a report for Dr. Penny Ballem, Vice-President, Women’s Health, Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of BC and the Breast Implant Centre on the past, present and future of breast implants and the Breast Implant Centre's role.
- Provided clients with information about all aspects of breast implant issues.
