Hello, how are you! South Africa is famous for gold and racism. But the outside world knows little about her. I want to introduce South Africa from lifestyle, living, traffic and racism, disclosing her mysterious mask.
Republic of South Africa, was Hollandˇ¦s, Britainˇ¦s and Franceˇ¦s colony, 1040 times bigger than Hong Kong. But her multi-racial population is only 40 million.. RSA has three capitals, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town.
Firstly lifestyle, Newcastle and Johannesburg have white, black and Indian areas. Newcastle doesnˇ¦t have high buildings. Most residents live in houses. But the black areas are very bad. As for weather, 18C in the morning and evening, 32C during afternoon. December and January is summer, May enters winter, similar with Australia, opposite to Hong Kong.
Private cars are the most common transport; public transport is mainly for the black. RSA infrastructure is world-class.
RSA exercises 10% VAT. She lacks Chinese product. Electronic products lay behind. The average food prices are same with those in Hong Kong. Beside, there are many hawkers and shops in Johannesburg , shopping is very convenient. Photo development is very expensive. Many people like to make up their gardens, driving for holiday, trailing caravans and yachts. Holidays are much longer than those in Hong Kong , workers can enjoy 3 weeks holiday during Christmas , one month for students. Kids go to school when 5 or 6. Besides , there are many churches, a lot of faithful churchmen will go there . Some of them even close shops to pilgrimage. To conclude, the lifestyle here is more relaxing, unlike the busy and colorful city pace in Hong Kong.
