GOLF COMMITTEE

 

Purpose

·        Assist the Board in its oversight responsibilities for the operation and enjoyment of the golf course

·        Assist the Golf Professional in monitoring course utilization and the effectiveness and fairness of

starting time priority decision rules

·        Prepare and maintain the Annual Golf Calendar

·        Provide appropriate education and training programs for the Lake Wildwood golfers

·        Perform special studies at the request of the Board

·        Assist the Golf Course Superintendent with special projects

Structure

·        There shall be seven (7) voting members. Each voting member must be a Golf Member in good standing as defined in Association Rule R-7.10.10, Provision 2

·        Committee membership shall be comprised of one (1) representative from each of the four recognized golf groups in lake Wildwood (Ladies' 18H, Ladies' 9H, Men's I8H, and Men's 9H) and three members-at-large. The Board recommends that the captain or president of a Club not be a Committee member, due to Club commitments and time constraints

·        The Association General Manager, who has no vote

·        Golf Professional, who has no vote

·        Golf Superintendent, who has no vote

 

Operating Methods/Responsibilities

·        Provide a quarterly golf course inspection to review the condition and playability of the course. The inspection report will be delivered to the Board and the General Manager

·        Review and update the Golf Course Master Plan annually. This work is to be done in conjunction with the Planning Committee and finalized for the annual Master Plan Review Report delivered to the Lake Wildwood Board at their June meeting

·        Provide assistance to the Turf Enhancement Group (Divot Stompers) in obtaining volunteers

·        Provide a semi-annual review of the tee time assignment system

·        Provide a semi-annual review of the "rounds played" tracking system

·        Provide a communication link between the Board, the General Manager, and Association members on items and topics pertaining to golf

·        Maintain a link between the Lake Wildwood Standing Committees that are closely related to the tasks of the Golf Committee ( e.g. Finance/Audit, Public Works, Planning, and Community Relations)

·        Provide user support for the development of PAD's and coordinate with Public Works, Finance/Audit, and Planning
