Golf Course Inspection Summary of December 3, 2007 Inspection

Tees:  For the most part tees were in good shape.  Some tees were not properly aimed.  Markers for forward tees were mostly unusable in winter months when they are most needed.  Building of proper forward tees would allow these tees to be used year round.

Fairways:  Fairways were in good condition rated at 4+.

Fairway bunkers were generally in good condition rated at 4+.  Lips should be reduced on holes 12, 14, 15 and 17.  15 had a low sand level.

Primary Rough:  Generally in good condition.  On of our team suggested cutting the rough shorter in winter which would make it easier to find balls, allow ground to dry out quicker and would help reduce the problem of excessive long rough brought about by winter conditions that often preclude the ability to mow rough as often as desired.

Greenside Bunkers:  Greenside bunkers received the lowest rating of any area of the golf course.  They received a rating of 3+.  Many of these bunkers are need of being rebuilt.  The primary problem is excessively high lips that in many cases slope back toward bunker.

Aprons:  Ratings of aprons ranged from 3 to 4.  The primary issue was uneven grass levels.  At least one Inspection Team member felt that the aprons should be cut shorter.

Greens:  Greens were in great condition.  Stimp meter readings ranged from 10.3 to 10.6.

Practice Area:  The synthetic greens need attention.  Sand and mold were the primary problems.  Pitching mats need to be inlaid.  Bermuda was growing into the practice bunker.  Over ratings of the Practice area ranged from 1 to 3.

Driving Range:  Mats were in better condition than last inspection.  Five hitting mats need to be replaced.

Addition Comments:  Hole 12 Pampas Grass slows down play and adds an additional hazard.  It needs to be removed.

Hole 13:  Fairway cut needs to be extended to right in front and beside 13th green.  (Ken Wolford concurred)

Hole 14:  Tree canopy on the right side of fairway is too low and affecting play.  The trees need to be trimmed.  The left side rough between the fairway bunkers and fairway is to wide.  The rough should be reduced to 8 to 10 feet.

Hole 15:  Trim Willow in right rough to 10 feet above ground.

Hole 17:  Remove berry bushes at creek hazard right of fairway.

Driving Range:  The hard rubber mats need to be phased out and replaced with synthetic grass mats similar to the first two mats on the right side of driving range.  The hard rubber mats increase the chance of slipping and causing injury during cold or wet weather.

Practice Area:  The yellow practice balls are worn and need to be replaced.

Overall Conclusion:  Course is good condition.
