Question #34 - Hole #1 parallels the left side of the range and Hole #2 adjoins the far end with the result that errant shots more easily travel off line into the adjoining golf holes. "One solution that can add tremendous visual definition to the range and assist in the separation of uses would be the planting of dense groves of Redwood trees down the entire left side of the range and across the end to provide, in essence, a "living fence" of some 81 trees between the range and the adjoining golf holes."

We need something for safety there. Grove of redwoods sounds kind of closed in. kind of "closed in"

2.

This is a safety issue and needs to be done NOW.

3.

4/3/2008 4:29:00 PM

Redwood trees are not native to this area.

4.

4/3/2008 4:47:00 PM

if it will stop the balls without 'eating' them

5.

4/3/2008 5:09:00 PM

A screen might be cheaper but it seems that existing homeowners adjacent to the holes are against that.

6.

4/3/2008 6:08:00 PM

This is a safety hazard to golfers

7.

4/3/2008 7:53:00 PM

Waste of funds and would take many years to accomplish intended use

8.

This "issue" has been long discussed and I think this solution is wonderful - put it at the top of the list. A barrier of trees might improve safety of balls hit right - I always am concerned about being hit by a range ball.

install green-coloured netting

10.

4/4/2008 5:41:00 PM

Now are redwood trees native to this area?

11.

4/6/2008 3:07:00 AM

Police these errant ball hitters.

12.

4/6/2008 6:38:00 AM

Redwood trees grow very fast and will be very tall someday. The other trees that are there should remain.

13.

4/6/2008 6:22:00 PM

Result: Loss of homeowners views, open vistas

14.

4/6/2008 11:04:00 PM

I would not have thought redwoods are "native" to this particular area and they do take a lot of water.

15.

4/9/2008 6:06:00 PM

I know of 2 or more people who have been hit by range balls in 1980s on fairway 1.

16.

4/9/2008 6:20:00 PM

You previously suggested removing non-native trees and now you suggest planting redwoods.

17.

4/10/2008 8:38:00 PM

No way 81 trees! Maybe 27 or so. Allow trees space to grow. 81 is too much money.

18.

4/10/2008 8:53:00 PM

Put up a screen

19.

4/15/2008 11:55:00 PM

leave cypress on 2 and include fence with redwoods on 1

20.

4/16/2008 6:58:00 PM

waste of time and money-effectiveness in very distant future

21.

4/16/2008 8:35:00 PM

find better use of dollars

22.

4/16/2008 8:50:00 PM

I think there should be screening or netting

23.

4/16/2008 9:19:00 PM

take too long to be effective. Trees will die at times and reduce effectiveness

24.

4/17/2008 10:04:00 PM

The course already has too many trees

25.

4/19/2008 5:06:00 PM

See this as an option when excess funds are available.

26.

4/19/2008 8:56:00 PM

Woe to you who send your T shot to the right

27.

4/20/2008 1:12:00 AM

Not essential, but a really good idea

28.

4/20/2008 3:41:00 AM

A real fence would stop the balls.

29.

4/21/2008 1:26:00 AM

1st, "non native" trees will be eliminated, now redwood trees will be planted to create a fence? I don't think so.

30.

4/21/2008 4:40:00 PM

wasted spending, we know where the driving range is even though we still hit the balls there

31.

4/21/2008 5:02:00 PM

not worth the expense

32.

4/21/2008 7:34:00 PM

I have 2 8' redwoods in my yard that are 8 years old and are 9 ft tall/ not a good grower!

33.

4/22/2008 10:51:00 PM

Dense in 20 to 30 years when most of us are long dead. Obviously th designer doesn't like the normal solution to separation because it's not pretty.

34.

4/23/2008 3:19:00 AM

ruin the view

35.

4/23/2008 4:03:00 AM

This would improve the safety issue

36.

4/23/2008 4:42:00 AM

Good idea. Have almost got hit by balls off the driving range.

37.

4/23/2008 5:55:00 PM

Are redwood trees native to this area??

38.

4/23/2008 7:48:00 PM

hackers, looking for lost balls in trees, will slow down play

39.

4/23/2008 11:03:00 PM

Redwood trees are beautiful and would add to the visual beauty of the course. Do we really need 81 of them?

40.

4/25/2008 2:37:00 PM

do not cut cypress great oz producers 365 days green

41.

4/25/2008 2:58:00 PM

good for safety reason, are they native to our area?

42.

4/25/2008 8:56:00 PM

redwood - an introduced species??

43.

4/25/2008 10:04:00 PM

Only as funding becomes available - priority none.

44.

4/25/2008 10:29:00 PM

add waste bunker on LH side & berm along #2

45.

4/27/2008 3:49:00 AM

Good to have in the Master Plan - but not sure when it should be addressed.

46.

4/27/2008 9:17:00 PM

Not native to area
