Minutes of the Lake Wildwood Golf Committee  June 10, 2008

The meeting was called to order by Duane Mayfield at 2:00 p.m.

Roll Call - Present: Maddie Graham, Jerry Lane, Linda Campbell Bob Martin, Duane Mayfield, Tom Watson and Cathy Hendrickson         Absent: Ed Lauchner and Mike Byrne

The following liaison personnel were present: Jim Knight, Ken Wolford, Don Streseman, Bill Haushalter and Chuck Murphey.

Minutes - The minutes of the May 13, 2008 meeting were approved as submitted. (vote)

Reports:  

Golf Course Superintendent - Ken Wolford

Two forward tees almost completed.  Tee on #7 to be completed following the Men’s Invitational.

61 Cu. Yds of sand used for the #15 forward tee.

55 Cu. Yds. of sand used for the #7 forward tee.

Sprinkler Head consultation will be done after July 15th.

Insecticide for white grubs and hot weather fungicide have been applied.

Golf Professional - Jim Knight

Sand/Seed bottles installed in rental carts.

Success of new fee schedule will be known by the end of June.

General Manager Report - Bill Haushalter

Agenda item previously submitted to be removed from next BOD meeting.

       Special Projects Subcommittee Report - Gerrry Galvin

Absent

Course Inspection Sub-committee Report - Gary Turzak

Golf Course inspection report handed out to group. Action items to responsible parties.  Volunteers from the Ladies Golf to repaint distance stripes on cart paths.

Irrigation System Sub-committee Report - Bob Pleski

Nothing new.

Turf Enhancement Sub-Committee  Report - Ed Lauchner

Golf Club Reports:

Ladies 18H-Cathy Hendrickson. – Ladies Invitational May 28, 29 & 30 was a huge success.

Men’s 18H- Tom Watson - Invitational work continues.

Ladies 9H - No report.

Men’s- 9H-Bob Martin – No report.

Old Business: Rule 7.10.10 , allowing tenant golf privilege was read.  Will be put on next month’s agenda.

New Business:

Review of Golf Course Masterplan Summary and preparation for the Information Social schedule for 3 PM on Monday, June 16th.

Correspondence:

a.          Jean Wyatt voiced concern regarding golf ball damage received.  Whoever caused her broken window did not acknowledge the damage.  It was decided, without accepting liability, that the Men’s 18 Hole club would bring it up at the next meeting.  They would also “pass the hat” to help mitigate the expenses of the window replacement ($507).
