The meeting was
called to order by Duane Mayfield at 3:00 PM
Roll Call - Present:
Duane Mayfield, Mike Byrne, Cathy Hendrickson, Linda Campbell, Jerry Lane, Bob
Martin, Ed Lauchner, Gerry Galvin and Maddie Graham.
The following liaison personnel were
present: Jim Knight, Chuck Murphey, Gary Turzak, Don Streseman, Edward Simpkins
and Bob Pleski..
Minutes - The minutes of
the December, 2008 meeting were approved. (vote)
Reports:
Golf
Course Superintendent - Ken Wolford- Reported that forward tee on #7 is now open
and in use. Forward tee on hole #8
re-seeded. Tree trimming continues. Ken was also asked about the depression under
the bench on the tee box on hole #4, the application of non-skid paint on the
bridges of holes 4, 12 & 14. Sand
was also noted on the downhill portion of the cart path on hole #18.
Golf
Professional - Jim Knight- Working on 2009 budget.
General
Manager Report – Edward
Simpkins- Reported that the preliminary golf budget is $200,000 short in
revenue. The budget this year is $21,000
short of break-even. There is a $90,000
savings from Golf Maintenance. Fee
increases likely this year. Edward was asked by the GC Chairman when the GC
would have an opportunity to review and comment on the budget/fees. The GC was told it would go to F&A
first. Duane Mayfield also suggested
that maybe cutbacks in the maintenance budget or personnel was possible.
Board Liaison Report – Don Streseman- Stated the community
center to open April 4th.
Special Projects Subcommittee Report –
Gary Turzak- PADS for two forward
tees and retaining wall on hole #12 waiting for funding from the BOD. Gary was asked about the status of the greens
replacement investigation. He stated
that he had one bid and was waiting for the second one and could not give
specifics yet.
Irrigation System Sub-committee Report -
Bob Pleski – Reported on the Toro
Irrigation presentation.
Turf Enhancement Sub-Committee Report - Ed Lauchner- Divot repairing on hiatus
until spring. Volunteers currently
working on replacing lookout tower on hole #18.

Ladies 18H- Cathy
Hendrickson- Nothing to report.
Men’s
18H- Gerry Galvin- Nothing
to report.
Ladies
9H – Linda Campbell- Linda stated
she will be leaving the GC and that Shari Davis will be her replacement.
Men’s- 9H- Bob Martin – Nothing
to report.
Old Business: None
New Business: Reviewed
the “Cost Recovery Proposal” that the BOD is considering. Everyone urged to attend the Meeting on
January 27th.
