Golf Course Superintendent Report: Ken Wolford reported on progress of getting revised bids for forward tee construction. One revised bid has been received but Ken is still waiting for additional bids.
Ken stated that he has created a PAD for an engineering study of requirements for upgrading the 14th hole bridge to allow passage of heavy equipment. Subsequent discussion by the Committee resulted in a request to have the item removed from the Board agenda. The Committee had originally requested that an engineering study be done on not only upgrading the existing bridge but also on replacing the bridge in a new location indicated on the Golf Master Plan. The Committee decided to pursue replacing the bridge in the new location specified in the Golf Master Plan.
Ken also reported on plans to resurface the 12th hole bridge.
Irrigation Sub-Committee Meeting Report: Bob Pleski reported on his committee’s last meeting and future planed activities and recommendations. The Sub-Committee will be meeting with Rainbird Sprinkler representatives on January 22. One of the primary topics will be summer dry spots on fairways.
Projects Sub-Committee Chairman Gerry Galvin reported on progress on 14th hole bridge.
Golf Professional Report: Jim Knight reported on proposed changes to the golf fees. It appears that we will have a two-tier annual fee system next year.
Board Liaison Report: Don Stressman mentioned the upcoming meeting on the Recreation Center.
General Manager: No Report
Guest Input: Del Price urged that the tree trimming on the 14th hole not be done. Del stated that we should stick to the Golf Master Plan which stipulates shifting the fairway left and filling in the two fairway bunkers.
Del also recommended moving the tree recently planted near the 18th tee sighting future problems the tree would create with the teeing area.
Old Business
Rule Change Status: Doug Dorfmeier and Duane Mayfield will meet with Don Hatton and possible other Finance Audit Committee members to determine what would be acceptable.
The Committee voted to recommend that the plaques placed by memorial trees be 5”X8”.
The Committee voted to allow only minor trimming of the trees on the right side of the 14th fairway.
