Living Well Launches Fundraiser! Living Well College has been given the opportunity to run the concession stand for Perdenales Youth Soccer Association for 8 Saturdays and 8 Monday evenings to raise money. We have had our first weekend with approximately $400.00 profit. We are selling drinks, hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, chips and candy. Thank you to Board Members and parents who have signed up to help! If others are interested in helping please call Catherine at 990-4799. It’s lots of fun! Volunteer Group Update LW Volunteers will attend Hospice training on Monday September 20, from 1-3PM. Students will then help with a Hospice Ice Cream Social at Windcrest Nursing Home from 3-4:15pm. Remember all Hospice Volunteers need a TB test. They are free at Hill Country Memorial Hospital. LW Volunteers will also start volunteering at the Fredericksburg Food Pantry in October. |

LW Field Trip: Johnson City Zoo Three students attended the field trip to the Johnson City Zoo. We arrived early and got to feed the baby deer by bottle, then visited with deer, goats, a pony, and a moose in the petting zoo. We got a private tour of the zoo on a trailer pulled by a tractor. We fed all types of animals including a camel, a zebra, bison, ostrich, all types of deer, and so many others that I have forgotten. The bison were the most amazing to me. They were huge and ate right out of my hand leaving it wet and orange when they were done. It was so much fun and the students had a great time too! We found out we can get discounted entrance if we have a group of 10 or more and they have a nice picnic area for future trips there. Needs Council approves funds for student scholarships
