CURRICULUM

The Living Well College programs and curriculum have been developed to educate and empower people to make a positive impact on the community.  All LW College for Living classes and programs has been designed to facilitate meaningful, productive, and beneficial community participation for people with developmental disabilities.  Individual student need and real life application is the criteria on which all courses and programs are based.  Demand and enrollment could affect class and program availability.

NEW STUDENT INFORMATION

Socially appropriate behavior suitable for a community setting is mandatory.  Admittance will be determined by our ability to meet the individual needs of a student.

TRANSPORTATION

Courses can be combined to create a block.  Transportation to, from and between courses can be arranged in advance by contacting Cathy.  Transportation will be limited so plan ahead.

FAMILY INVOLVEMENT

A small school requires active support from parents and family.  Families are encouraged to communicate with the teachers on a regular basis regarding student progress.  Families are also encouraged to visit Living Well College and observe class activities without any prior notice.  Living Well College will have special events, field trips and parties that families will be encouraged to assist with.

REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION

An annual Registration fee of $25.00 is due annually by June 1st.

Living Well College has three semesters, Fall, Spring and Summer.  Each semester, students may enroll in courses of their choice.  Tuition and fees must be paid prior to course start.  Scholarships may be available.  Check with the office to find out what scholarships are available each semester.  An ‘Agreement to assume all risk of injury, Emergency Medical Release, Liability Waiver and Covenant not to Sue’ must be signed prior to enrollment in any course or function with Living Well College and annually thereafter.  A Student will be admitted when all enrollment forms have been completed; the tuition, fees and registration have been paid.

New Students will have a six-week probationary period.  During that time, the Student or Living Well College may withdraw the student.  The unused portion of any tuition paid will be fully refunded to the student.

PAYMENT POLICY

Tuition payments are due prior to the start of courses each semester.  No student will be admitted to class if there are outstanding fees due.  It is preferable that all fees by paid by check, bank draft or money order made payable to Living Well College, which may be mailed to Living Well College, or may be given to the Executive Director.  Cash payments must be given to the Executive Director or a board member and you MUST receive a signed receipt at the time of payment.

There will be a $25.00 fee assessed for returned checks.  If any two checks are returned to Living Well College because of insufficient funds, Living Well College will no longer accept personal checks from you.

Every effort is made to keep tuition and registration fees at a minimum while maintaining a quality program.  Living Well College is a non-profit organization and will actively seek scholarships and donations to offset the tuition prices.  Fundraisers will also be planned.
