We Can Help is
a collaborative community service project designed to assist non-profit
agencies. Services may include folding
and stuffing envelopes for mailings, manning booths for events, and assisting
in special service projects. As
agencies have a need, students who wish can participate in these special
projects in addition to their other courses.
These projects will be discussed and voted on at Student Council
meetings.
The Community
Discovery program will connect the students in meaningful ways to many aspects
of the Fredericksburg community. Each week the students will visit new places
like local music and art venues, government offices, public services,
historical and cultural sites, and many more. This program is designed to offer
students valuable and usable information about the community, which can be used
in their decision making process regarding their personal goals and future. It
serves as the foundation for the LW and Community Apprenticeships as well as WE
CAN HELP program.
