LVU WILDCATS @ Franklin Twp                                     Sunday 10/28 4:00pm
MNJYSA game #7

The Wildcats came into the game 2 pts clear atop the flight, with Franklin tied for second place with Watchung Hills.  In the first meeting at Rock Spring it took us a least half the game to adjust to the Franklin Wildcats' style of play.. and on this day with a strong wind, hard surface, and falling sun we again had trouble finding our rhythm against these Wildcats that feeds long balls from the back to a very speedy central player.

We had the wind and sun advantage in the first half, but only generated a couple of chances... one break by Reb though was so good that neither coach could believe that the ball didn't go in !!!  The coaches were very pleased at the half when the girls huddled themselves on the field and talked about their strategy for the second half.  Part of the player development is to get players to think for themselves on the field, and to become leaders, instead of always looking to the sidelines at the coaches or parents for assistance.. and it was great to see this starting to happen.

Although we allowed a 23 yard shot that looked like it almost scraped the underside of the crossbar and gave Lin no chance to even get a fingertip on, the LVU Wildcats fought hard the entire game and should be proud of their effort.  We had two more opportunities in the second half that go on more often than not, but it was not to be.  All tolled, we might not have deserved the win, but we certainly feel we played hard enough to take a point.
The result leaves us in a 3-way tie with Watchung Hills and Franklin, with a tough fixture coming up on Friday night against Watchung at Rock Spring.     Get Psyched... GO WILDCATS !!!!!
