Registration for "The Whole Creative She..."

This was part of the "Girls' Night Out" weekend which kicked off our ten day festival. There were five workshops and two evening performances all about Women's creativity and wellness. .

These performances and workshops were all free. We thank the Rider Pool Foundation, Lehigh University and Northampton Community College for their logistic and financial support.

Mary Wright (right)

Fran was our headliner for the Friday evening performance and conducted a two hour workshop on "Learning to Fly"
dealing with storytelling and wholeness.

Mary was the organizer of these events.
Lisa Facciponti was our teller for our first of two free children's storytelling concerts. This one was held at the Northampton Community College.
Kathy Long and her helper Bill told at the Moravian Village, a show also free to the public.
New this year was our "Downtown Series". We had our tellers at a number of south side locations. Above is Larry Sceurman and Karen Maurer with her untamed accordian, who performed at Deja Brew. To the left and below is David Joe Miller at Blue Sky Cafe. This was a reservation only Southern Style meal with David Joe, a Southern storyteller.
David Joe Miller was also one of our tellers who took part in our Tellers-in-Schools program, in which the financial support of the Guild local schools were able to easiliy afford having tellers come into the school. Before and during the festival we held ten such programs, reaching over a thousand students.
Another downtown location was the Wild Flower Cafe where we had Kathy Pierce and Nancy Scott (not pictured) perform stories, spoken word and poetry.
Our major workshop, an all day intensive, was conducted this year by Odss Bodkin. Odds is a multiple award winning artist, who combines music as an intergral part of his storytelling. Even his workshop was conducted on a bed of music. Our subject was about tapping into our creative sources.
To the left is Odds performing at the  Friday Evening Story Gala, which was held at Godfrey Daniels. Besdies the two twelves string guitars, he accompanied himself on the Celt harp.

Opening for him was Richard Marsh, our "Emerging Teller" from Dublin, Ireland.
Godfrey Daniels is one of the premiere listening clubs on the east coast. It has been an icon in Bethlehem for over thirty years. Some of the best talent in America (and beyond) have performed here, and continue to perform here, on a regular bases.
On the left is Richard Marsh and to the right is Rob Mcabe, relaxing outside of Godfrey's during a break. As mentioned Richard was part of the Friday Gala, and Rob (from Detroit, Michigan)  was to perform the next day as part of the Story Fringe Show.
Here is Marie Winger during her performance of "Fairytale Fugue" at the Fringe Show on Saturday afternoon. There were four shows, which included, "Lost Loves" by Alan Ervine, "Queer!" by Rob Mcabe, and "Grim Grimm" by Charles Kiernan and John "Not the Mayor" Callahan.
And when it was over we feasted.

Actually, that's not true, This was Saturday night at Bridge Works. On Sunday morning we had our Sacred Stories open mic program, which is traditionally our last event of the festival.
