    So, you think you want to race? Well, first you need a bike. What's that, you say you have a bike? Well so do I. Mine is a Y2K GSXR, one of the top Supersports produced. Only one problem. It's my daily driver. Insurance won't cover it on a race track. Lay it down, and if you are lucky enough to walk away, you will also be walking to work. So you still need a race bike. Next, you need Gear. And alot of it indeed. Before they will let you on the track you will need full Leathers, Boots, Gloves and, optional but highly recommended, a back protector. How about tires? Yeah you have tires, but are they street or track tires? A set of Dunlop D205's will last a lifetime on the street, but go hot into a corner and you will certainly conform to the Earth's gravitational pull, more commonly known as a crash!! You better get some sticky tires like: Dunlop 207GP's, Michelin Pilot's or Pirelli Dragon's.
     Now you need some other essential but often forgotten about items. It is generally hot but always a long day at the track. You will need a cooler with food and drinks. How about seating? Not all tracks have seating and certainly not in the Pit Area. The ground will do, for about 15 minutes. Better bring some chairs and an umbrella. What about a camera? You will certainly want to see how you ride and share it on Monday.
     Last, but certainly not least, you need a track! Does your town have a track? How far will you have to travel? Either way you need a truck or other vehicle and a trailer.
     So, how much will all this cost? Not that much you say, well let's just see!!!!!

So, how much will it actually cost each weekend? Assuming nothing happens to your bike, the other facto is how fast you wear out tires. One racer I know goes through a set of tires every 2 races. So here is the list we expect to follow:

Racing starts here in late January, so stay tuned as we here at LVSB begin our first season of racing. We will keep you continually updated on our progress as we have never been on an actual Race Track. Only in mountain passes and back canyon roads.
