The following instructions should help you to better understand the process of downloading and installing the Good News Bible Study program. Sometimes a little patience and persistence is necessary when doing tasks with computers. You may also want to get a friend to help you through the download process. Please write me if you need further assistance. Thank you for your desire to see the program and learn more of God's message to mankind. Instructions for Downloading Program 1. The first step is to go to my web site. If you are not already at my site, type: http://www.geocities.com/lvoegtli in your browser's box for web addresses. 2. After arriving at my site, click on the Download navigation button at the top of the page. Then click on the file named "gnbs_1_6.zip" immediately after the word 'Download'. Then wait patiently until something happens (may take a minute or two). After the delay, questions are asked on whether to save the file onto your disk. Select yes and save the file into a subdirectory by itself. Instructions for Installing Program 1. After you will have downloaded the program, "gnbs_1_6.zip", onto some directory on your hard drive. You now need to run a program capable of unzipping a file in the zip file format. When you unzip the file, you will have generated 20 files which make up the "Good News Bible Study" installation program. If these 20 files are formed, it is very likely that you downloaded gnbs_1_6.zip to your computer without any data errors since the self-extraction program probably would detect if the file had become corrupted. 2. One of the extracted files is called "setup.exe". Run this program and it will install the "Good News Bible Study" program on your computer. If you encounter any messages during the installation, select OK and continue with the installation. It is common for some of the files installed by the program to already be on your computer and in use. If you are running Windows 3.10, you may need to consult the readme.txt file. If you are running Windows 95/98/NT, you may not see the .exe extension in the Windows Explorer since the default option is to hide known file types (such as executable files). The installation program generates the program icons to run the bible study program (which is named "goodnews.exe").
