As of September 2006, I have regained custody of my son who is now 17 years old. My son was finally strong enough to go in front of the judge to tell him that he was tired of the abusive home that he was in. My youngest daughter, who is now 16, remains in temporary custody with my ex-husband. CPS is active in their home though.
My daughter did come home for Christmas! This is very exciting for me! I now have all 3 of my children (with an addition of a new grandson by my oldest daughter) with me for Christmas. It is the first time since December of 1999.
I will try to be more active at updating this site. My story is far from over, and I have not...nor will I ever...stop fighting for my children's rights and my rights as a parent.
My story is horrible. It is sad. It is depressing. But I want all the non-custodial moms out there to know...IT WILL GET BETTER! My prayers are being answered, and yours can too.
Please just keep believing...especially in yourselves.
