| Artist Statement: This Exhibition was set up in the Reineke Gallery in Fargo ND. I placed a Dream tour phamplet near the entrance and visitors were asked to view the show as if they were in my dream...(dreaming the archetype dreams). I included an artist statement for each work, describing the reason one may be having the dream based on jungian dream analysis. I was relieved to find my dreams were common. I was wanting to spread the good news. When a bird dream in America may be of an eagle, in Australia the bird symbol may be an owl or an emu. The dream of the bird is still the dream of the bird. The dreamer could be anyone of age race culture or sexual orientation. (Someone on the other side of the world may be dreaming of someone reading a webpage page at this very moment). The leaders of our lands have these same Archetype dreams. Dreams can affect the ways we interact with others and make decisions. One may not feel like riding in a train after dreaming of a train wreck the night before. Dreams are not something we can push aside. They are a commonality between all humans. We all dream. We all dream the same types of dreams for the same seasons. Only our symbols are different. Just like our flags. |
