2-19-2001 Veronica Randolph Batterson emailed me from her home in Michigan. I located her through a blind search on one of my favorite genealogy sites, genforum.com. Veronica now lives in Grosse Pointe, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). She and her husband Brett have two daughters (Amanda and Hope). She is a freelance writer and a stay-at-home mom and remains "incredibly busy!?" She also does not have any contact with fellow 1980 graduates. Veronica says that Delicia Hammond lived in Panama City, Florida the last time she was in contact with her. Also, Susan Brooks O'Mary wrote me to tell me about her two sons (Jonathan and Daniel) who attend Lookout Valley Elementary School with James Cagle's child. Susan will be passing the word onto James and Elaine Case O'Dell.

2-17-2001 Keith Rogers emailed me after receiving a note from Sally at Classmates.com. If you remember Keith's date on the night of our 10 year reunion, she is now his wife and the mother of his two "great" kids (Corey and Emily). They live in the valley now, next door to the ball fields on Warren Place. Keith has been hoping that someone would e-mail soon from

classmates.com and pass along some addresses. He does keep up with Susan Brooks O'mary's. and says that her email is [email protected]. He still sees Jimmy Horton occasionally (I wouldn't brag.) and a few others at L.V. elementary school whose children also now attend.

2-12-2001 Doug Elliott contacted me via email (after Sally contacted him through Classmates.com). Doug still lives in Chattanooga and has a 7 1/2 year-old daughter. He still sees a number of LVHS alum and will pass the word on. Also, I received an email from Tim Winslet on 2/12/2001. After Graduation, Tim served in the US Army for five years, attended the University of Maryland and North Carolina State University, worked as a Software Engineer for IBM. He moved back to Chattanooga in January of 2000 and am currently employed by Computer Horizons Corporation as a Senior Consultant. He is married to Rose Ann Hutton and has two sons Andrew 10 and

Dylan 11.The amazing thing about returning to Chattanooga after an 18 year absence.....how little it has changed. Tim has been in contact with a few fellow class mates Mike Fryar, Jeff Smith and Randy Johnson, and has ran into a few others since bing back.

12-26-2000 Paula Smith contacted me via yahoo.com on December 26. She, her husband Marc, and her children Joey and Kelly are living in Woodstock, GA. Paula can be reached at [email protected]. Paula has been in contact with Kim Cooper, and recently with Diane Spence. She will be reaching out for them and asking that they contact us soon. Paula learned of the website from her brother Tom Smith (Class of 79) who I maintain regular contact with myself.

10-28-2000 Bill Kinnaman, after speaking to Gary Massengale, emailed me. Bill works for the Hamilton County School System (the horror!). He also often sees Don Puryear and Gary Massengale. I haven't spoken to Don yet to get his permission to list his email, but I will soon. Bill can be reached at [email protected]. Bill was at LVHS a

couple of months ago and a teacher asked him if he kept in touch with any of the alumni. This teacher is trying to start a scholarship program for LV students. He wants to see if any former students might be willing to donate $20 for the cause. $10 would go for new technology for the school itself and

$10 would go toward a scholarship for a student picked by an alumni committee. Not necessarily the highest G.P.A. I hope to have more information about this matter soon.

10-26-2000 Gary Massengale ran across my email on the net, apparently finding it at one of the alumni sites. He still sees Bill Kinnaman "all the time" and works with Don Puryear. Gary still lives in Lookout Valley. He ran into a couple of other lvhs80 alum lately also--Larry Knight and Mike Brown. Gary can be reached at [email protected]. Gary doesn't feel "20 years older." I don't either, but I do break a lot easier now.
