| Former ANB friend Tom
Gayan, Moline IL sent a lovely "Success"
card, note & book order. Thanks! Hes been
mourning the loss of an old friend, Randy Ferrari
& ministering to Randys mom and widow,
Hildegard. Always the good friend, I sincerely empathize
his loss & forgive Tom for being too preoccupied to
write. He claims my tenacity is what has kept our
friendship alive for the past 3-1/2 decades. Hey! Who
loves you baby? - ME!.... As I mentioned, Amy
Jenkins, Iowa City 99 writing companion, sent
the first newsletter update on our little (10) crew. I
really enjoyed getting the news on Chandler McRee,
Jaye Bartha, Maureen Boyd Biro, Allen Dyer, Martha
Sheldon & Jeanie Steffey. Especially enjoyed
Amys essay, "Sick Enough To Rest," &
Allen Dyers fantastic story about his trip to Nepal
under a Kellogg Fellowship resulting in his born-again
bone marrow & faith in the powers that make us
whole.. Classmate Jaci Little
Peterson wrote to report shes doing fine with
her new hip, received in September. Spent the holidays
with children, grandchildren. Her man Art had bypass
surgery in November. Unfortunately there were a lot of
complications and after a month in hospital Jaci was able
to bring him home and minister to him until his death.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Jaci and her family.

Sons of Norway Friends Marie & Walt Jacobsen
wrote in Dec. Walt had a quadruple bypass operation &
is doing fine. Both keep busy with the lodge, church,
card club & literary society. They esp. enjoyed Bj.
Bjornson lodges 90th anniversary party. Walt has
five grand children, Marie one. They recently sent a
postcard from Palm Beach FL. where they were visiting
with Maries son Roger, who has a cat!
Speaking of postcards - Got a X-rated one from Marite
Butners (banking cohort) from Washington DC, which
was thankfully in an envelope. ahaha.
Friend Barb Johnson Turner is still sending old
(yellowed) postcards shes been finding while doing
her "throw 10 things out each day" resolution -
this one was from the grand Bahama Club, West End, Grand
Bahama Island.
Lee/Geo Hardison, Chgo Sons of Norway friends
sent a REALLY GREAT congratulatory card...a roaring lion
shrieking "....Y-Y-Y-ESS!" they really really
liked the book - cant wait for the next one!
