Funnel:  1872: Buff, red five-pointed star and black top. 1893 - 1935: Black, white band. The band was one-tenth of the funnel height.
Hull: Black with bright red waterline, deck vents black and small ones white, deck fittings black.
Uppers: White. The earliest vessels had brown deckhouses.
Masts: Biscuit brown.
Lifeboats: White
