The funeral procession left from the Grand-Ducal Palace. It was followed by the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, the Hereditary Grand Duke, the King and Queen of the Belgians, and by the other children and grandchildren of Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte.

The Archbishop of Luxembourg, Monseigneur Fernand Franck, took the service. Prince Jean of Luxembourg, Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte's second son, read from the Bible and prayers were said by four of Grand Duchess Josephine-Charlotte's grandchildren:
- Princess Maria-Annunciata of Liechtenstein
- Princess Marie-Gabrielle of Nassau
- Archduchess Marie-Christine of Austria
- Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of
Luxembourg
The service was attended by representatives of various royal and princely houses.
