| Work and Interests Grand Duke Henri has always played an active role in the life of Luxembourg. Up until 2001, he was President of the Economic Development Board. In this capacity, he joined Luxembourg trade delegations in visits worldwide, promoting the Grand Duchy as a centre for business investment. |

| In 1998, during its meeting at Nagano, Prince Henri was a member of the International Olympic Committee. He is President of the Patronage Committee for the Luxembourg International Fairs Society. The Grand Duke is also a member of the Mentor Foundation, established under the patronage of the World Health Organisation, which works to combat the use of drugs by young people. | ||||||||||||||

| One of the Grand Duke's particular interests is environmental conservation. He is President of the Galapagos Darwin Trust Luxembourg and a member of the Management Committee for the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Islands. In this capacity, he has visited the islands, which are situated in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of South America. The Grand Duke has honorary doctorates from Sacred Heart University, Connecticut (USA), Miami University, Ohio (USA), Khon Kaen University, Thailand, and Trier University, Germany. |
