| This rear supertructure shot gives a nice view thorugh the rearward crew access hatch . Thorught it you can see the perforated base of the rocket shell , ready to go into the yawning breach of the mortar which can be seen beyond it. The mortar itself was rifled, imparting a spin to the rocket projectile to improve accuracy. Also of interest is the welded metal plate on the engine deck, covering what would have been the junction of the Fiefel air cleaning system with the engine itself ( compare to the early production Tiger on this site) |
