Jalapeno Dip
(family favorite)
1 lb. hamburg*
1 pound velvetta cheese**
1/4 cup onion finely chopped
8 oz. can tomatoe sauce
dash garlic powder
2-4 small jalapeno peppers-chopped fine***

*can use half hamburg and half turkeyburger.
**for spicy dip, use mexican velvetta cheese
***may substitute 1/2 small can of finely chopped jalapenos.

Note: Doubling recipe will fill crockpot a little over half using 5-qt pot.
Brown hamburg and onions in frying pan.  Drain grease. Pour into crock pot and add remaining ingredients except cheese.  Mix well.  Break cheese into chunks and place on top of mixture.  Place cover on crock pot and set on high for one hour.  Check at end of hour to see if cheese has melted (or mostly melted) and then stir mixture and lower temperature on crock pot and continue cooking on low for a couple of hours.  You may fix in advance and then reheat prior to serving.  Allow 1-2 hours of cooking time on high setting (the length of time will depend on how cold the mixture is).  Be sure to stir once or twice during reheating..
