~History of Maryse~
Maryse's home in Hyres
Where to begin Constance Maryse de Rochefort was born in 1375 AD, amidst the 100 Years War, the first child of Lord Phillipe de Rochefort and Lady Constance de Rochefort.  The Truce of Bruges, signed the year Maryse was born, brought a brief respite in the war between France and England but it was short-lived.  It was during this brief truce that Lord Phillipe moved his family from the small village of La Cadire-d'Azur to the seaside town of Hyres where the family thrived until their death from smallpox in 1395 AD.
Maryse survived the smallpox epidemic that killed her entire family and swept through her beloved village, leaving few survivors.  She remained in her family home with a few servants that also survived.  She caught the eye of the dashing French vampire, Sebastien Le Fleur who proclaimed that her grace and beauty rivaled any he had ever seen.  Sebastien embraced Maryse in 1400 AD on the eve of the New Year.
Sebastien and Maryse became inseparable, the epitome of sire and child.  She grew to love him with all her heart and he taught her to live as royalty, enjoying everything of value that France had to offer.  Together they experienced the Renaissance firsthand, traveling through France, viewing the art of di Vinci when it was painted originally, surviving the Wars of Religion between the Protestants and Catholics, barely escaping with their undead lives.  During the 17th Century, together they tasted the Lords and Princes of Louis XIV at his palace at Versailles, where Sebastien became enamored with a mere servant and left Maryse to fend for herself.
At first heartbroken, Maryse spent several years in seclusion only leaving her home to hunt.  Her opinion of commoners, which at the time held the majority of the population of France, lowered even more after Sebastiens betrayal with the servant girl.  It was then she became associated with other Sabbat members and her path never strayed.  Humans were used for whatever worth she felt she could glean from them then discarded without thought.  She never offered her heart to another and to this day, still remains alone.
With a desire to forget any emotion even remotely human, Maryse poured her energies into becoming a true Daughter of the Night.  She used the humans around her for their purpose, sustenance for ones higher on the food chain, then discarded them with no further thought.  The ones that could help her with a higher purpose, to further her power base, she charmed until she had what she needed then left them sniveling as children that had had their favorite toy destroyed.

Maryse used her contact with the Sabbat to futher the knowledge of what she was truly capable of.  After Sebastien left her alone, she concentrated single-mindedly on honing her skills, perfecting her talent in using the discipline of obtenebration and was able to learn to manipulate the darkness as skilled as some of the elders that were helping to train her.
After centuries of absorbing the necessary skills and culture to assure her continued existence, Maryse found herself in the United States, New Orleans to be exact, the owner of a business, an Inn and Tavern that caters to ones of her nature, with a few friends, the only ones she will allow close to her, and most importantly, with a purpose.  A purpose that will be revealed when the time is right

Maryse has a taste for fine wine, exquisite art and clothing designed by Chanel, Gucci and Dior to name a few.  Always elegant, always perfectly groomed and ALWAYS with an ulterior motive, Maryse woos and charms any who fall into her path so be cautious traveler, you may think you have her where you want her but rest assured she is a few steps ahead of you... or an entire city block....
Shadows? Hah! I wield Darkness itself, not mere shadows! Tell me could a shadow do this?
