Alan Matthews, a husband, a father and a friend. Seems like just your average guy, but as I've learnt throughout my life and throughout the series, those things are better than average. Alan was always trying to understand his children, and in the 7 seasons, probably only touched on many of the things his children were about, but still, that is enough for him to care about them. He constantly tried to be the best he could be, to be an inspiration to his 2 sons, and also not leave out Morgan, his first daughter. And, I'm sure if the Matthews family were real, he'd be doing the same for Joshua now. Played by William Russ, Alan was a typical father, always trying to provide for his family, and a typical husband, always trying to do the right thing, just because he knew it would make someone else happy. |
