Entry for June 29, 2007

It sure feels good to get out of a car. We've been traveling for about 12 hours now today. Everyone is safe and all is well.

I'll try and catch you up with what we all did yesterday. Our last day of VBS went well. We had a full church again, my class again being around 22. It was also warm so every class outside was warm. However, with the help of a water balloon toss game, it cooled down a little.

The after noon work sites went relatively smooth as well. We got done everything that was away from the center so we all hung around the center to get some things done. There was some painting here and there to do, like a bench and another area of the building. We built 4 more picnic tables totalling 7 for the week with 3 or 4 stained and finished. I finally got the little plumbing project done with the help of Phil Gorter and a re-threader we found in Roberts shop. And we got the dorms all cleaned up and ready for today so that all the cleaning was done for the next group to come in.

After an early supper, we all headed out to Rolling Fork for the VBS program. The church was full which we here happy for since we forgot to hand out the fliers for the event after VBS in the morning. Parents as well came to see their children along with members of the church and Cary Christian center leaders. The kids sang their hearts out and at the end of the evening recieved their gifts. Some juice and a snack at the end tied off the night as many of us chatted outside with the kids and parents and the rest cleaned up inside the church.

We returned back to the dorms to do some last packing and cleaning along with devotions and share time. It was a late night, hence why I wasn't able to get to the Cary center before midnight to update the page (we don't like anyone leaving the dorms at night).

This morning we all woke up early and packed up the truck, finishing all the little cleaning and packing things. We left a little after 7:30 and were on the road. Nothing much to report of today, we travelled through some heavy rain for  a bit and we are all enjoying the cooler temperatures compared the the high 90s this week. Now, we are just all relaxing. The other leaders are filling up the vehicles with gas and some are swimming and checking emails. We all look forward to coming home yet talking to my fellow comrades, there are many too who are missing the kids and pray all goes well for them.

I will upload a few more pictures yet so if your reading this after I just post it, give me a few more minutes and I'll have the pictures updated. This will be my last post for this years trip, at least I think it is.

thank you all again for keeping up to date with us and praying for us through the week. God's blessings to you all.
