The Contest is now over. A winner has been chosen and she is Ericka Parra. She is 13, and it is said that she lives in California. The date she will meet Khleo is unconfirmed, due to Khleo's busy schedule, and hers. She says she will take pictures and tell everyone aboout it.

Walking Tall

Khleo Thomas will be playing Pete in the movie. His character is a troubled teen, angry and tough who is going though a rough time after his father abandons him and his mother, leaving them with no money, and forcing them to move. He is basically a good kid, has a great sense of humor and strong family ties. Filming in Canada should be complete around September 4th.

Walking Tall Information (added 8.17)

Dying to get the Holes DVD? Heres some useful information.

The original Walking Tall movie came along with two sequels. If the remake does well in the box office, then there just might be another two movies coming along, all depending on If the movie does well. So i've heard, Khleo's character 'Pete' will be dying in the movie, but if not, and the movie excels, we just might see him in the two possible following sequels.

Cast Notes: (3/12/03) Despite the fact that "The Rock" looks absolutely nothing like Buford H. Pusser (especially considering the way Bo Svenson was nearly his spitting image), there is one thing that does "sort of" make sense about casting a wrestler in the role. Before he became a sheriff, Buford Pusser himself had a career as a professional wrestler in Chicago, where his nom du ring was "Buford the Bull". Rather than "The Rock", however, it seems like it would have made more sense to cast someone who could more easily pass for Pusser, like maybe The Big Show (on the "holy crap, that dude is huge" tip) or Triple H (on the "big blonde dude" tip)? (3/19/03) According to a report at 1Wrestling.com, the central character of this movie will indeed be changed to no longer be Buford H. Pusser, but will instead be a non-biographical character that the Rock can more easily play without being compared to a real person. (4/17/03) Neal McDonough, the extremely blonde actor who has appeared in HBO's "Band of Brothers", Minority Report and NBC's Boomtown, has signed on to play this film's main villain. (6/5/03) Jackass star Johnny Knoxville has joined the cast as the Rock's deputy. Character Name Notes: (3/12/03) There's a strong chance that the character name may be changed from "Buford H. Pusser" (along with other details of Pusser's life) to customize the character for The Rock. Something else worth noting is that Pusser's middle initial is sometimes written as T. (possibly because it just sounds better?), but it was actually H (his middle name was "Hayse"). (3/19/03) According to 1Wrestling.com, the character played by the Rock will no longer be Buford H. Pusser. (7/4/03) The Rock's name in this movie will be Chris Vaughn. Director: Kevin Bray (All About the Benjamins; he's also got the Taxi remake in development) Screenwriter: David Klass (Kiss the Girls, Desperate Measures; he also has a Hannibal of Carthage project in development) Based Upon: This is a modernized remake of the 1973 "hicksploitation" drive-in classic, Walking Tall, which starred Joe Don Baker as real-life Tennessee sheriff Buford H. Pusser (1937-1974), and inspired two sequels: 1975's Walking Tall Part II and 1977's Walking Tall: The Final Chapter (both starring Bo Svenson who went on to star in a short-lived 1981 "Walking Tall" TV series as well). It's possible that if this remake is successful, the sequels might also be adapted. During the real Buford Pusser's career as Sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee for three terms, he was shot eight times (one of which ripped his jaw off), stabbed eight times, was once involved in a one-on-six fight (which he won) in which he sent three of the baddies to the hospital (and landed the other three in jail), and had to deal with the murder of his wife by the hands of evildoers. Premise: When a former member of the U.S. Army Special Forces, Chris Vaughn (The Rock), returns to his small hometown in rural Washington State to revive his family's lumber mill business, he discovers that much has changed, as the normally tranquil town is now besieged by drugs, outbreaks of violence and a general feeling of malaise and terror, with many pointing a finger at the influence of a crooked casino where his ex-girlfriend (Scott) now works as a dancer. Seeking to wreak vengeance, with a four-foot-long 2-by-4 in his hand, and righteousness in his heart, the highly-trained soldier, now the county's sheriff (with Knoxville playing his deputy), realizes it's time to bust some heads with a very hard piece of wood. (Wilson plays the Rock's sister.) Filming: Production started on June 16th, 2003 in British Columbia on a budget of $50-60 million, and is scheduled to wrap up on September 4th, 2003 (or so). Filming Notes: (3/12/03) It's possible Vancouver, British Columbia might be used to stand in for the green fields and hills of rural Tennessee. Nothing says "deep south" like the Pacific coast of Canada. (3/19/03) Production has been confirmed as starting on June 2nd, 2003 in Vancouver. The setting has been changed to Washington State, so Vancouver no longer seems like such an odd choice. (3/28/03) The budget is expected to be in the $50-60 million range. (6/15/03) Production starts tomorrow, June 16th, 2003 and is scheduled to wrap up on September 4th, 2003 (or thereabouts).
