Quidditch
Quidditch at Hogwarts is played between the houses in many Inter-House games.  The winner at the end of the year, recieves the Quidditch Cup.  Read more about Quidditch here.
Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the wizarding village located on the Hogwarts grounds.  Trips to Hogsmeade are offered to third year students and above.  Students use these trips to replenish on supplies, have a drink of butterbeer in The Three Broomsticks, or just to get away from school happenings.  Read more on Hogsmeade and its shops here. (coming soon)
Sorting Hat
The Sorting Hat at Hogwarts decides which house you would do best in.  You place the hat on your head, it reads the contents and yells out to the hall which house you should be in.  The Sorting Hat is ancient and came from Godric Gryffindor's (?) own head.  Every year the Hat sings a new song explaining what his purpose is and occasionally gives out a warning to the students about things to expect that year.

Great Hall
The Great Hall is the dining area for the students and in the Goblet of Fire, it was used as a dancing hall.  The Great Hall is the location for the Sorting too.  The Great Hall has four house tables, one for each of the house's residents to sit at.  The meals are prepared by houselves and the plates re-fill themselves.  The ceiling is bewitched to look like the sky outside.  The Great Hall also is the place where students recieve their morning post (mail) from their parents.  They can recieve anything from Howlers to gifts and treats to things that they forgot at home.
Tests
There are final exams taken at the end of every year at Hogwarts.  You must pass them to move into the next year.  Also, taken by fifth-year students are the O.W.L.s or the Ordinary Wizarding Level tests-they test your abilities and depending on what score you get, helps decide what you can be when you become of age.  Also, taken at Hogwarts, are the N.E.W.T.s or the Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests, which are for the advanced students and are taken in the seventh year.
