ANGEL JONAH February 14, 1988 - November 10, 2001
Jonah & Joshua
Jonah & Joshua
Jonah was my first kittie. I got him in April of 1988. He is an Angel now and my reason for creating these web sites. I want to remember all my kitties now while they are still healthy and alive. My Jonah was my very special cuddle cat and I will never be able to replace him.
Three years after I got Jonah I decided he needed a buddy as I was working a lot of overtime at my job. So I brought home Joshua for him in May of 1991. They lived together as brothers for nearly 11 years. I think Joshua still looks for Jonah sometimes even though he has been gone for over a month now.

<~~~~ Pooey  November 2000
Pooey came to Rodney in 1988 as a stray. She was missing all her teeth on one side of her mouth. We are not exactly sure of her age but estimate she is about 16 and the oldest of our cats. . She has her problems but she is hanging in there.
Junie Bug &  Pooey
Hi,  I am Beverly and my husband is Rodney. We met in January of 1999. At which time we combined our cat households. He had 2 cats, Pooey and Tiger. I had 2 cats, Joshua and Jonah. Someone left Molly here, so then we had five.
Then Junie Bug came to us in "June" of 2000 when Rodney was visiting his parents grave one day.
Then in July of 2000 we took in a feral stray, "Baby" and 4 days later she had 3 kittens, Delilah, Samson, & Grace.
Then in February of 2001 another stray "Ashley" found her way to our back porch. Update: June 5, 2002 another kittie found it's way to our back porch. His name is "Blackie". So, now we have 12 including Angel's Jonah & Pooey.
Jarrod was brough to our front door August 21, 2002 by a neighboor that decided they could not keep him. He was 8-10 weeks old at the time.
October 23,2002 Ariel and Sarah were taken into our home to live with us. Just two more kitties that found their way to our door. We had been feeding them for awhile before we could trap them and take them in.
Whitey actually came to our door November, 11, 2001. The day after my Jonah died. It was not until the following November 25, 2002 that we were able to trap him and take him into our home.
Joshua & Junie Bug
Molly is 15 years old. She is our Mammary Cancer survivor. She has been in remission now for 3 years. She had 2 surgeries in May and June of 2000 to remove her adenocarcinoma and has been cancer free since that time. We were lucky that we found it very early before it spread. We thank God every day that she is still with us and still in remission. Molly teaches the valuable lesson of just one of the reasons people should have their female cats spayed at an early age. When she was left at our home at age 11 she had never been spayed. There are links on Jonah's memorial site that discuss mammary cancer and the importance of spaying.

Tiger is our 11 year old forever basement kittie. Rodney saved him from a cold barn one winter and took him into a heated outside building that was used for storage. Tiger will put up with me and Rodney and he loves our daily visits to love him, feed him and pay attention to his needs. He does not however want anything thing to do with any other cat in this house. He is happiest when he is alone in the basement.
Baby is our stray feral Momma cat that we decided to take into our home in July of 2000. She is about 2 years old. We thought she was pregnant and sure enough 4 days after we took her in she had 3 kittens in our garage. She had 2 kittens, Samson and then Delilah and I thought she was finished. She wasn't! The next day and 30 hours later she went into labor again and delivered 3 more kittens that were stillborn. The vet told me that was to be expected since she delivered them so far apart. To my surprise she had a last and 6th kitten that was born alive. I was so happy that at least one of the last 4 was born alive. We named her Grace as we felt she was saved by the Grace of God.

Samson & Junie Bug
Junie Bug is our special monster kittie. She is full of character and has recently taken over the position as BOSS of the house after Jonah passed. She came to us June 16, 2000. Rodney was visiting his parents graves that day. As he was kneeling down and praying over their graves Junie Bug decided to hop up on his back out of nowhere. She makes sure to have her nose in all the affairs of the house and keeps the other kittens in line. Well, they are officially cats now, but they are still like kittens and babies to ME!
Maybe you noticed, Junie Bug doesn't particularly care who she sleeps with, as they long as they have a warm body to cuddle up against :-) Including Mine and My husbands!

It's playtime for the kittens when you turn the water on in the bathroom sink!
Last but not least by any means is our cat Ashley. She is about 3 years old. She came to us in February 2001 as a stray. Just like Baby did. Begging at our back door for food. We thought she was pregnant too! It turns out she was just fat. Even though she only weighs 11.5 pounds she looks much fatter because of how she carries her weight around her sides and tummy. Makes her look pregnant all the time but she's not. We found out the hard way after we waited 2 months for her to have kittens. Even the vet thought she was pregnant when we took her in to get checked out! She is a very good kittie and very friendly to everyone, EVEN the vets! She tried to lick the vets hand the third time we took her in and scared the poor vet to death she thought she was getting bit LOL. Ashley is quite the Momma to Junie Bug for some reason. She has decided Junie is her baby and constantly tries to lick her and clean her. Of course Junie will only stand for that for so long then they start the tumbling matches. It is so fun to watch them. It is fun to watch all the kitties playing!

UPDATE
Since the creation of this page our Pooey Kittie has left us. She was PTS on 4/02/2002  at about 16 years of age due to chronic renal failure...
Well I have learned another lesson....Never say this is the "last" kittie, as I did with Ashley Gray above...
As of June 5th, 2002  we added another kittie to our home. He came to us like so many others. Begging for food on our back porch. He was in bad shape, with war wounds all over, and a huge abcess on his head, above his left eye. We took him to the vet immediately, where he tested negative for FeLV and FiV. We had him neutered and given vaccinations. He is doing really well now and has become my husbands new love! He is very big, friendly, and lovable. We are so lucky to have saved him and that he is such a good kittie. His name is Blackie, as you can see he is solid black. Not a very unique name, but my husband wanted to call him Blackie so, I said OK :-)

Another addition to the house arrived on August 21, 2002. We have named him Jarrod. He came to us from a neighbor that decided she could not keep him. He was about 8-10 weeks old. He is so very energetic, and full of fun, and life. We love him so much already. How could you not love this face?? :-) ~~>

The Black & White kitties are Momma-Ariel -2 years old and Kitten-Sarah- 5 months old. We had been feeding them and decided to take them in. We had both spayed and tested negative for FELV and FIV. Also vaccinated. We are sure the kitten is feral but the Momma seems more human friendly. We took them into our home Oct. 23, 2002.
UPDATE:
We lost our Little Sarah on March 21,2003. She suddenly developed neurological problems and was no longer able to walk, or really move around very much. After a necropsy was done they came to the conclusion based on their findings that she had a metabolic disturbance of unknown origin. She also had her stomach full of undigested dry food and she had not eaten any dry food for at least one week. Leading them to beleive it had something to do with the bile system in her litttle body not working properly. She is very much missed and we still love her very much until the day we can all be together again.

Whitey joined us Nov. 25 2002. We had him neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV. He is very scared of everything and we are progressing slowly with him. Such a good kittie that loves to be petted.

Sandy joined our family on June 25, 2003. He was feral and one of the wildest cats we have ever taken in. It took lots of time, love, and patience but Sandy is now one of the most loving cats we have. He has become my shadow and follows me from room to room. He loves to sit beside me or on my lap now. He even falls asleep in my arms sometimes now. I have fallen just as much in love with him as any of our cats. He is a truly special kittie.
I saw Sabrina in our back yard about 3 days before we took her in. She was climbing into a bucket of corn we had set out for the deer to eat. I knew she must be looking for food. I grabbed a can and called, here kittie, kittie. She came running right up to me and ate like she was starving to death. Hubby saw her a few days later and asked me if I wanted to take her in. Well of course I did! So on December 28, 2004 Sabrina joined our household. She was about 8 months old at the time. She has fit right in with everyone else. She is playful and feisty. Has a big mouth and loves to wake me up at least once a night! She loves Rodney most though. She will climb right onto his lap and sit quietly for a few mintues and let him love on her. Hoping one day she will come to me this way too! She and our boy Sandy are partners in crime. Always play wrestling with one another and trying to find new ways to get in trouble. She is just as pretty as can be!
