To The Traveling Hairdresser

Compassionate Choices

So what does animal rights/humane education have in common with "The Traveling Hairdresser"?  Achieving beauty (both physical and spiritual) does not have to include cruelty.  Being a "Cosmetologist with a Conscience" means purchasing and supporting only those products that are cruelty freeCruelty Free products are more often than not, well labeled.  It just takes a few moments of our time to find out if the product that we are buying is in fact cruelty free/animal bi-product free.

I have taken this opportunity to point out numerous, horrendous facts that the public may not be aware of.  Please read the below at your leisure.

Tens of millions of animals are subjected every year to experiments that blind, poison, mutilate, shock and burn them.  Some tests last for hours at a time or continue over several days or even years.  Small mammals, used in product safety tests are force-fed toxic substances or have them dripped into their eyes (WAITER, MAY I HAVE THE CHECK PLEASE)Dogs from pounds and shelters may end up cut open and inadequately anesthetized, on medical school operating tables.  Many alternatives to animal experiments have been developed, including clinical and epidemiological studies, cell and tissue cultures, mathematical, computer and mechanical models and audiovisual guidesHuman patients w/ cancer, AIDS and other lethal illnesses are often refused opportunities to volunteer for experimental treatments that may offer some chance of success, and healthy volunteers are eager to participate in behavioral studies.  The animals, however, have no choice.

Compassionate living is both a philosophy and religion.  I honour this philosophy through the services that I provide.  I bridge the gap between two hot political topicshuman and animal rights.  I feel a persons perspective on how we treat our voiceless counterparts says a lot about how we treat society as a whole.  If a person accepts and condones cruelty to animals, then there must be a great apathy present in that person towards certain human suffering as well.
