Ships In The Night

Just as two ships that pass through the night
To a voyage not yet charted.

Through tears, the images I see are but distorted
As you try to peer within my soul.

My body and soul, themselves, scream out my hurt and loneliness
With a far stronger voice than I could, with mere words, express.

You feel my words of pain, love, and sorrow.
You give warmth in your words of comfort to this restless heart.

If but at last our hearts had touched in another lifetime
Upon this great sea of destiny.

With the glimmer of hope that one day
Shall we pass this way again, like ships in the night.
