Life's Pain
Tears can't make it better; neither can hope.
There's not much left to do except dream.
And what do you do when the dreams run out;
When the thing in life you wanted most shuts you out.
The pain is still there, it still won't leave;
And the tears overflow the banks of your eyes again.
One day that dream will come true, I pray,
After all the pain, all the tears.
And when it does I'm sure I'll cry again,
But this time joy will be my friend, not misery.
