You held out your hand to me, I trembled so,
but the peace that surrounded made my shaking cease.
"There is nothing to fear but fear itself," you said.
"I am your shadow, I shall never leave you."
The light from your face lit the darkness and was made day,
for even in shadows, light exists.
I took your hand and with the wings of flight we
began a journey through time. A time of love,
of laughter, of sadness, of joy and happiness.
All things around became clear and defined
in deep shades as the rainbow we passed over.
You reminded me of the good things
and to never dwell on the negative.
You promised you would always be with me,
even though your earthly existence was no longer.
As tears filled my eyes, you gently brushed them aside
and kissed my cheek and told me to cry
not for the pain was no more.
And when I awoke, I knew that you were happy
and peace would forever be yours in a dream.
