This is in year 1987, 6 boys that are friends to each other lives in Kanagawa-ken (prefecture / province) . They are very happy especially when Yoshihiko is with the group.

Junichi comes home. Before his room is his parents' room. When he passed by, he overheard his parents' conversation that they will move to Tokyo. The reason is, his dad got a better job. It's a different story to Go. his dad an assignment at his job and they need to travel.

Next day, Go and Junichi told this to the group. Everyone was so sad. Junichi will be leaving in a week while Go will travel to other places in Japan on the next day. They've given each other remembrances. Junichi received Hiroshi's soccer ball, Masayuki's drawing, Yoshihiko's painting, and Ken's comic book. Go received the same thing too. Then the next day, Go left leaving five of them sad. They became more lonely when Junichi left on the following week.

With four of them left, they felt no hope. They seldom play and usually stay in their rooms. But the next month, Junihci called up Hiroshi telling him how things are going. He first connected the line to Ken. After those conversations, Jun called up Masayuki. He also connected the line to Yoshihiko. Though they were happy for Junichi's call, they don't know what happened to Go.

Sadly, Hiroshi needs to transfer to Nagano-ken to study there. His family will live in his grandparents' home and sell their house in Kanagawa to earn money. The group has become even more lonely. Hiroshi left 3 months after Junichi left Kanagawa. Yoshihiko, Ken and Masayuki were the only ones left. Because of this, they got low marks in examinations and locked up in their rooms. They tried their best to study and look for new friends but no one can ever replace Hiroshi, Go and Junichi.

On the following year, the three got used to it a little bit. But the lonely heart is still there. They play games that they usually played when the other three were still there. At least the three were left together but the other three left Kanagawa separately.
