Love is a powerful force. Have you heard stories of how people sacrifice for love? How people change for the sake of their love ones?
Love is not blind. However, it has the ability to make someone overlook the flaws of a person, the ability to turn that person's weakness into strength.
How could something which even science cannot explain be so amazing? How could something that cannot be seen, touched or tasted be so wonderful?
Love makes the world go around. Do you believe that love can change a person totally? A hardcore drug addict can quit the habit because his life is now filled with love, a purpose. An obese man can run for miles so that he will lose weight and become fitter, all because of the strange thing called love.
I have heard a lot of stories about how people become different overnight all because they found that someone special. I only believed those stories partly. Afterall, they cannot be accounted for. It is only recently that I witness firsthand this amazing force at work.
Poly Year One. I knew this classmate who had quite a bad attitude towards studying. He didn't give a damn about anything, showed little respect to the lecturers and studying hard was the last thing on his mind.
I don't think he can be called lazy because he is actually quite a talented person and if he wants to do something well, he can. It was more of his attitude towards life.
One particular incident which I have a deep impression of was when he walked off in the middle of a lecture. All because he was pissed off with the lecturer. He simply stood up, walked to the door, kicked it open and walked away. How cool is that?!
As I was not in the same class as him in year 2, I saw less of him. Suddenly one day, he just changed. He trimmed off his long hair, no longer wore outrageous "costume" like cowboy boots to school. He was like a different man, like a man reborn.
His attitude towards studying also changed for the better. He worked harder now and showed the lecturers the respect they deserve. A very dramatic difference, don't you think?
I was puzzled to know what has brought the change in him. What kind of blow or motivation did he received? Later, I found out from my friend the reason. It was all because of a girl... Yes, he found his special one and all which he did was for her. Love at work?
The next experience I had involves one of my close friend. The only thing I can say about him is before love found him, he was crappy, pervertic, dirty-minded and doesn't give a damn about his personal appearance. He had a tummy and was damn proud of it!
2 weeks ago, he changed. No, he didn't become Brad Pitt all of a sudden. You think what? Ugly duckling story? Ha.
He changed for the better. He no longer thinks and talks about pervertic stuffs, stopped looking at girls and even shaved off that pervertic goatee of his. For crying out loud, he even started jogging just to shed that extra pound of fat in that tummy.
What in the blue hell just happened? Ladies and gentleman, you have just witness the power of love. Yes, he did all that because he finally found the girl he had been waiting for. It's really very hard to explain the change in him. Imagine the devil suddenly converting to Christianity. Impossible you say? Maybe with a bit of love he can!
Love is powerful and amazing. You will never know it until you experience love yourself. Like how the Powerpuff girls would sing, " Love, Love, Love, La La Love, makes the world go round!"
