The other part of my life.....
The first picture above shows the biggest sign on my front door. The same applies for these cat pages as well!
I'm looking after cats for most of my life and have a sort of 'Cat Hospice' here for the last 16 years.
I've been brought cats that were injured, neglected, mistreated, hit by cars and, and, and...
With help from a really brilliant vet from the region I try to extend those cats lives as much as possible. Some can be passed on some stay here.
For 2 years (until she died) I had a cat here that was estimated over 20 years old, had a hearing problem, was nearly blind and had a damaged hip. But she still loved life and was as often in the garden as the weather allowed. But nobody wants a cat like that! She would have been over 140 years in human terms!
Those animals stay here where they can die in peace.
There are quite a few graves around the house..
I'm not using any kind of poison or artificial fertilizer on the property, so the garden is safe for all animals and insects.
Despite the cats there is a big variety of birds here, as there is a 'Mini Forest' on my property. I have apart from all the common birds like Sparrow, Thrush etc. - Tuis, Fantails, Waxeyes, a variety of Finches and Parakeets. There is a good amount of native insects too!
Through all the years I took hundreds of cat photos and videos which are obviously impossibly to be all displayed. I took the ones I liked best and extend the range a little bit over the next few weeks, so do check back.
The garden has a number of 'cat houses' of different types. Some will be displayed. Even tho the cats have the possibility to come into the house or use places in the garage, they often decide to stay in their 'Private Quarters' in the garden. Those houses have a 30mm foam floor with an exchangable mat on top, are insulated and rain proof.
