Justin Hartley:

Hey everyone. Thanks for joining me. I'm sure your schedules are busy, but we're going to have fun.

fox is kind of a unique character on passions. did you model him after anyone?

Justin Hartley:

That's a really good question.

I definitely model my character after certain people. Of course there's a bit of myself to a certain extent and I have a ton of unique friends that I modeled him after as well. It's one of those things where our show is written in such a way that you really can get an idea of the writer's ideas for the character before you get a chance to sink your teeth in.

But I try to change it with every chance I get to add certain undertones and to fluctuate and add certain thougths. And I think he's modeled a little bit after my own family.

And I really watch Ben Master's work all the time, so I model the character a bit after him as well.

Justin, who do you consider to be the worst villain and villainess in Harmony (worst male & worst female) ?

Justin Hartley:

Let's see... would that be onscreen?

(kidding)

I'd have to say Alistair. I think Julian is just a buffoon and I'm just goofy, but I don't think Alistair has a sense of humor at all.

And if you watch the show, you'll also see that he's the worst villainess. So he'd be both.

If you were to write a storyline for Fox, what would he be doing?

Justin Hartley:

I like what I'm doing right now. But every day I go to work I say "Fox needs a gun." I'd like to have that, and maybe a pair of handcuffs.

Passions Fans are clammoring for a TheRox romantic pairing! What are your reactions to the enormous popularity of Theresa and Fox as a potential romantic couple? Did you expect such a huge outpouring of diehard support and love for these two characters to be together?

Justin Hartley:

I love it. I think anytime you get somebody interested in your storyline is wonderful, and then when you get people interested in a possible storyline it's even better.

As far as if I expected that support... I don't think I even knew what I was getting into when I started this job. I never really expect that. I just expected to come to work and do my best, though I didn't know what my best would be.

It's almost like a reward for all the hard work I put in, but I definitely did not expect that huge support for my character, or the pairing, or for the Crane family, or any of that.

I love it! It definitely doesn't go unnoticed.

is it intimidating workign with ben masters? is he as scary as he seems?

Justin Hartley:

Yes and no.

You know, I'm not intimidated really, by anybody, but I'm definitely aware that, as an actor, that man can crush you, and he will, any chance you give him.

So you just need to be prepared when you're working with him.

And he is, I've got to tell you, probably the one of the nicest guys I've ever met. That dichotomy is amazing, because he's playing this heartless bad guy, and he's the most sensitive (and he would kill me for saying this) caring, warm, humble, wonderful, honest guy. I love him.

But he's definitely not scary.

who has been your favorite costar and what is your favorite storyline so far?

Justin Hartley:

Who is my favorite co-star... hmmm... I have to say it would be my fiance. I like to look at her. And my favorite storyline is when I get to look at her. (laughing)

It's the truth.

But I adore everybody that I work with, really.

Beverley

Where would you like to see the character of Fox a year from now?

Justin Hartley:

Probably in the West Wing.

I think I could be the President's right-hand man. I really like Martin Sheen a lot.

Not the entire year... just a show or two. And then they could throw me in the ER.

--------------------

Lydia

What's the craziest/nicest thing a fan has ever done for you or you and Lindsay?

Justin Hartley:

I'm pretty crazy, so not much hits me as crazy.

But the nicest thing, though... there's so many things. But recently when we were doing the Hollywood holiday parade, this fan gave us a bag and we got home and opened the bag and there was a Hallmark ornament that said "Christmas 2003" and the ornament was of two champagne glasses and a bucket. It was nice.

People are pretty nice to us.

What was your most embarrassing moment on the set of Passions?

Justin Hartley:

That's another thing... I do so many things that others would qualify as embarassing, that it really doesn't phase me.

You know, though, I would say that one of the first scenes that I did was coming into Theresa's bedroom in my boxers and had to get into a fist fight with my brother, and then the light goes on and the entire cast was standing there wondering who I was.

And as soon as that scene was over, I thought "it's over, I'll never see it again," and if I ever had to wear my underwear in front of everybody again, I've already done it, so it wouldn't be a big deal... but then I went on Soap Talk and that's the clip they used.

Fans don't know much about Fox' history with his family beyond the feeling of resentment that Fox seems to feel from his family. Do you want the show to explore this facet of your character further?

Justin Hartley:

Sure. I'm up for anything.

Although it would be tricky for me, because of the way I'm trained I already have a story in my head; I have a reason in my head for why I do anything.

It would be interesting to see what the writers come up with.

--------------------

Nicole Hendrie

who do u look up to as a roll model

Justin Hartley:

I have so many actors that I look up to, but Arthur Miller for one, Tennessee Williams, Lanford Wilson is another one... Owen Wilson, talk about being comfortable in front of a camera... DeNiro... and Ed Norton is my hero.

And my mom's great. I've learned a lot from her... either what to do or what not to do.

--------------------

Ashton

Justin, what made you want to act on soaps instead of any other genre?

Justin Hartley:

You don't really think of what genre you're acting in. I just love the character. I think if it was Fox Crane the talk show host I'd be doing that.

--------------------

bunn

what is the hardest thing about working in daytime?

Justin Hartley:

The volume of the work, probably.

--------------------

Tanya

If you could both write your own dream scene for Theresa and Fox to play out, describe what would happen in it?

Justin Hartley:

My ideal Fox and Theresa scene...

Well, I think this is a PG site... so... next question.

--------------------

sera

what's your big career dream after passions?

Justin Hartley:

I just moved here not too long ago, so I'm just taking all this in, really.

Everything's going great and I've got a couple movies in the works and doing all that, so I'm moving right along.

I'd have to wake up and think about that one.

--------------------

Monique

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

Justin Hartley:

There's so many...

Off the top of my head... "Beautiful Girls."

--------------------

Rebecca

Fans have categorized Julian as a villain that people love to hate. How would you describe Fox?

Justin Hartley: Similar, though I don't know if I'm that much of a villian.

It's a cool thing chemistry-wise, in that you love to hate him, but you also root for him.

I think Fox is kind of the same way, but then when those two are together, you can't really decide who's right or wrong. Neither one of them are really that bad.

Is there anyone you would like to see fox have a storyline with that you havent really had a chance to work with yet

Justin Hartley:

Ed Norton!

He's welcome to come by any time he wants. We'll give him a good role.

Kathleen Noone... Mrs. Wallace. We had a moment, one moment, when she and I were in a hospital together and we exchanged a look, and she gave me this look like she was scared out of her mind and I shot her a look like she was out of her mind.

Or maybe Tabitha... she could give me a gun!

--------------------

Allison

If you had it your way would Fox be with Whitney or Theresa?

Justin Hartley:

Professionally I don't know. We'll see what happens. For Fox right now, he's definitely all about Whitney, but I don't know.

--------------------

Nikki

Have you ever had a crush on anyone you work with os Passions?

Justin Hartley:

I have a crush on Chief Bennett, but I'm stuck marrying Theresa!

(laughing)

--------------------

Ruthann

How hard is it to separate Fox from Justin when you have to work with Lindsay?

Justin Hartley:

It's easy. They're totally different.

--------------------

TheRox Fan

Passions has a huge supernatural element to it. Do you believe in the paranormal, youself?

Justin Hartley:

Yes, I'm very paranoid.

(laughing)

What are you talking about? We have supernatural stuff here?

Do I believe in any of that stuff? You know what, no... but I feel weird for not believing in any of it.

--------------------

aditi

Do you plan to get your own website running soon?

Justin Hartley:

I just had a meeting today about that, so it's in the works. I promise this time.

--------------------

ashley

If you could be another character in passions who would you be? why?

Justin Hartley:

I'd be Whitney or Theresa so I could act with Justin.

But I love my character, I adore him.

--------------------

hawksamber74

Justin, what was your favorite fantasy scene?

Justin Hartley:

There have been so many...

I like the cute sweet ones. One of my favorites is where Whitney and I had a kid, and we rolled in the stroller and Fox had a family. It was really interesting to see that Fox's fantasy was having something he never had, a family... the baby, the wife, and the tight family.

--------------------

Justin Hartley:

Thank you so much for your time and your questions and definitely keep watching. The story is moving. I would love to spend more time with you folks, but I'm being pushed out the door to go home and work on my lines so I can be good for you guys tomorrow.

Love everybody,

Justin Hartley
