Course of vacations or how to deceive the lazy ones

������ In all of the cultures, since the natives to the more scholars, the children discover early that their entrance in the adults' world feels through one without number of tasks that they should be accomplished as a long ritual that takes since the sweet irresponsible freedom of the childhood to the preparation to take care of families, of businesses, of politics and of other incumbencies no less serious.
������ It is learned how to live together with the laws, with the respect to the social norms and with the limitations that some healthy one forced to impose to the other ones.
������ Some individuals are shown unable to absorb those learnings and they will be more ahead the marginal of the community.
������ The school is the institution that takes charge of developing in the citizen the behavior that the society waits of him.
������ It doesn't make that playing nor forgiving the flaws, but administering demands that should be satisfied under penalty of having to pass for a rework period, until that at least fifty percent of the great level is reached.
������ Now, in the State of Sao Paulo a fatal blow has been applied on the school model described above.
������ No that there are creative minds to the point of they invent unpublished ways to harm the workers' children, but the one that we have are servants of high step paid with budget of our pocket to track vile experiences accomplished here at other countries to apply them under the argument that " that is already made in the United States ", as if the system of waste of brains of the less favored classes in that country could serve as mirror for emerging societies.
������ The two recent examples of that foolishness are the room-rota (called room-enviroment) and the course of ' recuperation' of vacations, here accomplished in the months of January.
������ This second blow, maybe more harmful than the first, it was applied in the United States in the expressive number of one city (Chicago)!
������ The preaching for the room-rota represents the implantation of the impossibility of educating, therefore the first step for the learning is the psico-physical training of being several seating hours occupied with the intellectual work, as an important Italian thinker already repeated in the decade of thirty.
������ But the blow of January, in what consists?
������ Here they would fit juridical considerations even, because the measure begins hurting the cathedra freedom, beginning consecrated in any civilized constitution, not just in ours.
������ It happens that with the perspective of seeing his teacher pressed by superior instances to approve him at the whole cost, the student is devoted less and less to the study.
������ It is more and more frightening the number of students that, in December, are discovered in disapproval situation, which implicates the teacher's of the year change, unconstitutional, for an unemployed that will come in January for the current rules ' to save the homeland'.
������ The following year the students that went by the blow will be close to the group that was promoted, ridiculing the teacher, that uselessly demanded of them more pledge in the studies.
������ An immense number of students is kept in the teachers' of disciplines hand that depend on training, as it is the case of the Mathematics, and those are drawn back of those teachers to be given to one that will obey the impositions of the practice of the course of vacations, basically in the to facilitate the content and to avoid application of exams.
������ Because it is.
������ The teacher of the school year doesn't put of his practice aside evaluating, and then a great amount of students devolve systematically proofs in white.
������ In January a successor that will just collect some works of cutting out and necklace will come and...
������ of the bottom of the top hat the student's approval that didn't learn anything of solid will appear!
������ What the approved students will win for that artifice?
������ They will win the warranty of could make number in the banks of the universities of low level for, if they arrive to conclude the course, to hang the diploma in the wall and to live with the illusion that they went by an education process.
������ The great bottle mouth of our country is not the education absence, it is the bad education!
������ The duramen of that pernicious school was in some usages of the Military Regime that, strangely, they last long and they still have powerful defenders.
������ The main of them is the habit of evaluating the acting of the school unit for the promotion index interns.
������ It is that stupid idea of attributing to the entity exactly that she thinks it is worth.
������ Because anybody intelligent knows that the less demanding school and less contentist are what more approves students.
������ What should be measured then is the students' learning and not that falsely superdimensioned notice that they receive.
������ To avoid that the things are repaired, the few employees that have access to the results of the applied general exams to the schools they are forbidden of publishing them.

The addiction of not reading

������ At the beginning of the century XX, to set up a company and being well happened a person should have a good elementary school, of four years. With that instruction the citizen was prepared to face the basic demands of medium entrepreneur's occupation and, in certain cases, even of great entrepreneur. That meant that the elementary school was enough to guarantee independence. Today, four years of education are almost anything, even to exercise the humblest positions.
������ It is important to become aware that it is not the instruction degree that counts, but the experience involved on those years of school. In the current situation of the teaching, in that the youth doesn't need to do anything in the classroom nor he had gone of it to receive promotion, ten or twelve years of assumed education can work as consolidation of functional illiteracy.
������ The one that counts is the reading training! The development of a country is proportional to the readers' index for habit in its population.
������ Try to count how many people are reading in the queue of the bank, place in that theoretically literate individuals are. You will see that the number, when it is not zero, it is insignificant. Day of those, in a situation like this, I saw a citizen reading: it was a Japanese, reading a book in the Japanese language, amid other thirty nine people that nothing did.
������ The uncommon effort done to educate the Brazilians in the last decades represents an immense damage, once the students' proportion that turn themselves voluntary readers is very small. And the profit of the education is just that!
������ Peter Drucker, the acquaintance author of books of Administration ("Society post-capitalist"), it explains the development of Japan based on the education investment: Differently of China, the Japanese education was universalized starting from the work of the "boujins", the writers, that traveled the country nailing the need of the habit of the reading. They were aware to invest in education without indoctrinating the population in the habit of the reading it would mean to dump money in a bottomless sack, that it is what has been happening in South America. An observation that I throw in an of the books that I published is that Japan is the only no-Christian country in the concert of the rich nations. The explanation is that of Peter Drucker.
������ The other countries that developed themselves are Christian, but they are not those that practice the ear Christianity, in that just the priest reads while the others listen. That practice represents the largest waste of brains that one can register.
������ Do we still have time? Certainly that yes. We needed some two generations, in the counting of 14 years of Ortega y Gasset, to change the face of our America. But if we are contemplating the facts without interfering hardly, we will continue to see the retaking of the retard. The addiction of the no-reading among the youths should be seen as something more pernicious than the addiction of smoking! If certain drugs used precociously destroy the brain, not exercising it takes equally to the loss of their potentialities. This means to destroy it, in the same way. Somebody will mention the Indians, that they continue in their majority illiterates, which agrees with their life way. Now, one of the natives' main demands is for the education. When they are going to Bras�lia, our New Versailles, which more they demand are machines and... teachers.
������ We needed to create in the understanding of the population the seed of the science that to send the children to the school it will mean an enormous damage if they are not developing the habit of the reading.
������ Will it only be the enough school to arrive to that? Obviously it won't be, therefore we saw that in Japan the motor of the change was the writers' preaching, that they formed an organization that hovered above the school system. We, writers, suffered the consequences of writing at a country that doesn't read and we struggled to change the situation. If we get, we will sell more books, but we will be the least beneficiaries. Who will win more will be the future of the country, will be the generations that will be ready to build a civilized nation. It cannot be alone in the writers' hand the task of that doctrinizing. Otherwise we would already have gotten to transform this feature. A frightening die is that one century behind the circulations of editions of books were made with three thousand copies. Today, with all of the means editorials that exist, the circulations are of... three thousand copies, exactly as before.
������ We will form reading circles among the youths not only in the schools, but mainly in the churches. It is like this that the great countries reached their current positions. We will create reading nuclei, we will make reading contests aloud, we will see with apprehension and with reservations the youths that don't want to read.
