::well my first day at the advertising agency was horribly boring. but if they want to pay me to answer the phones and read all day i guess i can deal with it. and it looks like it could be fun with the people and projects their doing.

i can't sleep these days. and i'm having weird dreams. at least i can toss and turn in my favourite place in the whole world: my beautiful wonderful fluffy bed.

nothing much else to say other than Guess has the nicest jeans ("its our last pair"). i didn't think i liked their clothes until little disher made me go in there and try on their collection stuff. why does everything i like have to be so damn expensive. bah humbug.::

::me again (who else?) its midnight & i just made strawberry jam! mmm... ok so it was my first time and it may not be the greatest... but it was so fun! i could go into the strawberry jam business. the smell is divine!
that's what happens when you wake up from sleeping all day and your ma has brought 12 pints of berries home::

::wow i'm old. but its weird how there's that saying older and wiser. well i feel like the older i get the goofier i get and the more i realize how little i really do know. or maybe that's from watching too much discovery channel - so much to learn!

anyway, thanks everyone for your wishes, emails, calls and presents. it means the world to me! and sorry that i'm so boring and don't want to go out to celebrate but i just feel like everyone is all over the place this year. i'm too lazy to organize things and to be completely honest i just don't feel like being the centre of attention. its like john cusack sez in high fidelity: i'm tired of it all (except for those rare ppl & things that you never get tired of, like fudge brownies for instance)

i was chatting with amisha and its nice to know that we're all confused. for awihle i felt like everyone is on this perfect path to success but i guess if you look a little deeper not everyone seems to have a clue. PHEW! so... look out for us selling juice and ice cream out of pineapples on the beach::

::happy bday big choo! i made a massive pot of chilli tonight and we even ate them in bread bowls! mmm... my ma got us the usual bday ice cream cake that almost became a disaster when it started melting everywhere, which really just made for a very happy clean up crew. i luuuv B&R jamocha almond fudge. YUMMM!

hung out and played pictionary on saturday. the girls whooped the guys' asses i'm pleased to say; even though our drawings were horrid (the cobra HA!) we all managed to be on the same brain waves.

tree planting for the island restoration project was really fun too. we were lucky that it didn't rain like the forecast promised. katherine stopped by too just to say hello and fill me in on her summer. and to try and convince me to work at banana republic.

other than that, i'm moving up in my temp position. she's got me doing some reports and teaching her how to use excel (the sum function!?!). oh, and the filing cabinet fell on top of me. ::

::i think i might actually be over my jet lag. spent the last 3 nights in the big city cuz it seems that's where all the action is these days. you may be surprised that it's not in mississauga!
i joined mel for this brazillian movie called 3 marias at the film festival. it was actually not bad - much better than stupid pistol opera at the seattle film festival! and the director being there really helped explain the weird symbolism and such after the show.

i met up with the roo, ash, and holly for some gummi serpents on thursday at holly's place. we had big plans for lounge 88 but ended up being sleepy on the futon while the girls touched my butt and thighs (which they thought would be huge from biking across europe but i swear they aren't! maybe from the gelato and baklava tho)
finally i checked out steve's new apartment, which is SO nice. i want an apartment too. first things first tho (like a real job). ooh, but i started working yesterday as a temp doing reception and admin stuff - woo hoo! thank goodness for the SciBus degree ::

::sigh. does it feel good to be home. i woke up at 5am due to jet lag and for a minute didn't know what country i was in. i couldn't get back to sleep so i uploaded more pictures to the webshots site. at least the temp has dropped today so i don't feel like i'm going to faint like i almost did yesterday. what was i thinking going for a run in 35 degree weather?

being home is weird. i've noticed that everyone is getting settled into the real world quite nicely. eek! guys, why do you all have new apartments, new jobs, new cars... am i the only one with no real clue still? whatever i better enjoy this while i can. plus, seeing some of you has been bliss : )

hopefully i get my luggage delivered soon so i can begin my quest for retail work (did i mention that lufthansa lost our bags? boo urns). i've gotten requests to try and work at Browns - jules tries to deny it but her shoe problem is still alive. ooh! my bags are here my bags are here! ::

::i'm in love with Turkey. iSTANBUL was such an amazing time and i'm really glad i got to see it even though it took us like 24hours on the skechiest train ever to get there. we saw the aya sofia, which is one of the oldest intact buildings in the world that was a place of worship for both christian and muslim religions at one point in time.

the blue mosque was absolutely beautiful. we actually got dressed up in traditional muslim attire and attended a prayer session there. to be quite honest we were the most hideous sights in our makeshift islamic attire but it was such a great experience that it was worth it!

the best part was the hookah night watching the whirling dervishes. if anyone has seen baraka they will know what i'm talking about. anyway, back at lynn's place in athens and ready to get on our plane tomorrow. good night all and see you back on the flip side::

::ok who was i kidding? no internet for the rest of the trip? ha.
we're done with the island hopping and staying at lynn's beach house in platamon. the islands were so amazing. santorini was great - hiking the volanic crater, hot springs, mud fights, donkey rides, sunsets, black sand beach, red sand beach and the swimming cave at the white beach, the 24h bakery... (I am dangerously addicted to baklava)! crete was soo fun too - hiking in the samarian gorge, the beaches, the accidental sneak-in to the all inclusive resort, the waterslides, and the shopping!

we had thoughts of taking a short side trip to istanbul but i think that's out of the question now that the funds are dangerously low. i think we will spend the rest of our time just relaxing on the beach unless it rains on us : (
