| BURNS
Cool the area with cold running water for at least two Minutes. For severe burns, refer immediately for medical aid. Treatment Lavender, Tea Tree After cooling the area, as above, apply 2-3 drops of essential oil of Lavender or of Tea Tree, to prevent blistering. CUTS, GRAZES, Etc. First of all, clean the area gently but thoroughly to remove any dirt or grit. If the wound is severe enough to require dressing, just cover it with a dry dressing and get medical aid. Treatment Comfrey, Marigold, Witch Hazel, Yarrow Comfrey: Use the ointment on minor cuts, scratches, grazes, and if necessary cover to keep clean. Marigold: It is an alternative ointment to Comfrey, especially where there is inflammation and redness around the area. Witch Hazel: Either wash with Witch Hazel or use it diluted, as for bruises, on a dressing to astringe cuts and minor wounds. Yarrow: Use as compress or saturate a dressing to promote clotting and healing of cuts. FAINTING It can be due to emotional shock, pain, or hot and stuffy atmosphere. Treatment Ensure fresh air, loosen any tight clothing, place in a comfortable position�lying down if possible. Use essential oil of Lavender held in front of the face as smelling salts. NOSEBLEED Discharge of blood from the nose occurs when there is a spontaneous rupture of a small blood vessel lining the mucous membrane of the nose. Treatment Hold the soft part of the nose between finger and thumb, pinching firmly to stop the bleeding. Lean the head forward and continue to hold the nose for a few minutes. If available, use a cold compress of Yarrow to assist stopping the blood flow, placing small pad over bridge of the nose whilst pinching. |
