DAY SIX:
SARSTOON:
“In this tribe, we have a hierarchy.” Rob states on the morning of day six. “We have the workers or peasants namely Joel, Colby and Kelly. We have the guards, Lindsey and Ethan. We have two princesses, Tanya and Tammy. And we have me, as the king.”
Truly, Rob feels very confident on his position in camp right now. He had pegged three persons to be voted out in an order. Joel-Colby-Kelly. Those three are the only people in Rob’s way of total control over the tribe. If he can get rid of the three of them...
“The guards won’t have anyone to protect us from and they would be easily dispensable.” Rob states. “I mean, who wants guards that won’t protect you at all? They would just try to get rid of you from your seat of power.”
^^^^
“Just look at the three of them.” Colby Donaldson points out to Kelly three figures in the shelter laughing out loud. Tammy, Tanya and Rob.
“So? What’s to see?”
“Can’t you see anything Kelly?” Colby asked agitated. “They’re doing absolutely nothing here in camp. They work when they want to and when’s that? Two days ago!”
“Well, yeah, they are working less than ever.” Kelly agrees.
Colby sighed. “And they have the power. I can’t believe it!”
“Better believe it cowboy.” Kelly stated smiling. “’Cause they’re going to have the seat of power anytime soon and they would be unstoppable.”
^^^^
Right after that interesting chat with Kelly, Colby went to another persona in view. Lindsey Richter. Colby’s trying his very best to save himself from being voted out and it would be either Lindsey or Kelly would be the ones to do it.
“Hey Lindsey, have a minute?” Colby asked as he approached Lindsey who was trying to chop up some wood. It has been a daily ritual in Sarstoon that you have to at least chop some wood once.
Lindsey stopped as she wiped the sweat forming on her forehead. “Sure. What’s up?”
“I have something to propose to you.” Colby stated looking around making sure no one’s there to listen.
“What is it?” Lindsey asked looking confused.
Colby pointed back at the shelter where the three survivors are still there, talking. “We need to get rid of them.”
Lindsey laughed. “Fat chance cowboy.” She stated as she went back to her chore. But she stopped as well and added, “Just what do you have in mind anyways?”
Colby eyes’ glowed with excitement as he replied, “You, me, Kelly and Joel, make a four person alliance to get rid of the three of them.”
Lindsey found this strange. “What about Ethan?” she asked questioningly. She was fond of the Jewish man since they shared a good friendship after Africa wrapped up.
Colby shook his head. “A winner can’t have a second chance even. Get rid of the three of them...”
“Including Tanya?”
Colby nodded.
Lindsey sighed and stated, “Fine. I’m in. Just get back camp. People might think suspiciously.”
“I just have to lie to the cowboy.” Lindsey stated her lies to her confessional. “Its just a matter of seeing whose the stronger one. If he’s up in voting out Tanya, I just can’t do it. I can’t write her name down on that piece of paper in council.”
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE:
The two tribes are hiking now to their next immunity challenge. Hondo, in particular were in full hyper mode as Tina stated, “This would be the gross food challenge, and I’d let my team down before and this would be my crowing glory.” As they hiked on, their counterparts, Sarstoon, arrived at the scene, Joel, proudly displacing the immunity idol on his hands as the tribe cheered on with Tanya leading them.
“Welcome back guys.” Jeff greeted the two tribes as he turned his attention to Sarstoon. “First things first. Sarstoon, give the idol back to me.” He stated smiling as Joel reluctantly gave it to the host. “And once again, immunity is back up for grabs.” Jeff stated as he placed the idol on top of a crate.
Jeff
then revealed today’s challenge. “Now, I’m sure that four of you at least
will remember this challenge.” Jeff stated as he removed the cloth covering a
wheel. “It is from the Outback, called ‘bush tucker’ which consists of cow
brains, grubs, grasshoppers, and mangrove worms but there are also a bar of
chocolate and Doritos. Now, one by one, each tribe would have a representative
here, as I spin the wheel. Whatever item is on the arrow, those two would eat
it. We’re playing for eight points here. Hondo, since you have one member
less, one would be eating twice.”
First pair up was between Susan and Joel. Susan’s eyes glared at Joel as she remembered the humiliating loss she encountered back at Pulau Tiga. As Jeff spinned the wheel, it turned around and around and soon it stopped.
Grasshoppers.
“Sweet.” Joel stated as he picked up his and Susan did the same. As they ate it, the two tribes started to cheer on. Susan was the first one to finish, as Joel was a few seconds behind.
“Yeah Sue!!” Tina cheered on for her teammate.
The next pair up was between Richard and Kelly. “The winner and the runner-up squaring off.” Jeff announced as Kelly shook hands with the former winner. Jeff spinned the wheel and it turned and finally it stopped to...
Cow brains.
Kelly smirked at this as they were given each a pair of cow brains. Both survivors looked at each other and they both ate it at the same time and finishing at the same time.
As the tribes continued on squaring off, Tina and Lindsey were fortunate enough that the food that they were suppose to eat were bars of chocolate. Tanya didn’t have the greatest results however as she was forced to eat squid. As she struggled on, Sarstoon cheered on for her.
“Go T!!” Lindsey cheered on as Tanya tried her best and finally she did it.
And the two tribes are tied.
“Here’s where we’re at.” Jeff announced as the cheering of the two tribes died down. “Hondo, choose someone from Sarstoon; Sarstoon, choose someone from Hondo to face a face match. They would have to eat a one foot mangrove worm, and the first person to finish, wins.”
Hondo had an easy choice as they picked Tanya. Tanya groaned at that and Sarstoon had a hard time to choose until Colby finally spoke up, “Guys, Tina’s squeamish. Pick her.” And they did.
“Tina and Tanya, in the final match off.” Jeff announced as the two women shared a handshake as they took their places. Jeff gave them the mangrove they were going to eat as Tanya started to look disgusted at it.
“This is for immunity.” Jeff stated as he looked at the two ladies. “Survivors ready? Eat!”
The two survivors placed the worm almost simultaneously inside their mouths as they started to chew. Tanya struggled on as Tina forced herself. Then in a few moments it was over.
Tanya had thrown up. “Hondo wins immunity!” Jeff declared as the members of Hondo shouted in delight as Tina finished off the worm. The tribe cheered on as Jeff handed them the immunity idol. They were going to be safe for the next three days.
SARSTOON:
The tribe gets back after the challenge with only a few hours before the hike to Tribal Council begins. Tanya Vance was slumped down as she started to cry inside the shelter.
“T. Don’t cry.” Lindsey stated as the tribe checked on Tanya. “Its not your fault.”
“But it is.” Tanya stated as her muffled sobs drowned out her words. “I let the tribe down big time. We should have won that.”
“Maybe we’re just destined for it.” Joel said.
“Just leave me alone guys.” Tanya pleaded. “I need some time for myself after this.”
^^^^
“I’m telling you Ethan, no one trusts you that much here anymore.” Lindsey warned Ethan as the two found time to be alone to talk strategy. Being a fellow African castaway, Lindsey feels that Ethan needs protection. After all, being super nice isn’t going to help him out now.
“And what do you suggest I do?” Ethan asked his arms around his chest. He was nervous since he was a winner before. It would make an obvious choice. Get rid of a winner, you’d feel more satisfied with yourself.
“Vote alongside me.” Lindsey replied smiling. “It’s a long shot, but with us two as a team, we would be unstoppable.”
“And who do you suggest we vote for tonight?”
“That’s what I’m going to find out.” Lindsey replied as the two went back to camp, after a quick hug and handshake.
The wheels are now in motion.
TRIBAL COUNCIL:
Eight gongs are heard as the tribe entered Tribal Council. Sarstoon, a tribe full of young, energetic and strategic people, entered Tribal Council, all ready to fight.
Eight gongs, one would be going home soon.
“First
off.” Jeff started. “I want you to grab your torch behind you, light it with
the fire in the middle, place it back and take your seats.”
The
tribe took their torches as Jeff continued, “As most of you all know, fire
represents life, your life on the island. Once the light is snuffed out, your
game ends as well. Remember that very well.”
The
tribe lit their torches, placed it back and sat themselves down. Jeff sat right
in front of them as he began to question the tribe.
“Six days straight. Colby. How does it feel to be here again, to play the game once again, and be here for six days?”
“Tiring.” Colby answered. “As much as we would love to stay here, we were all morally and physically exhausted. We really tried our best but we exert our most effort at camp, so during challenge time, we were tired.”
“So, that makes the reason on why the tribe lost the challenge a while ago? Tammy?”
“As much as I wanted to say it does, the challenge doesn’t require much physical skill at all. It was purely mental.” Tammy replied.
“Which brings us to Tanya. [Tanya smiles and shook her head] Do you think that you’re the main reason on why your tribe lost?”
“Yes.” Tanya answered. “I had eaten a squid before that and my stomach’s just upset and eating the mangrove worm, I cannot handle anymore.”
“Do you feel vulnerable tonight?”
“Of course.” Tanya replied back. “I failed in the challenge, that’s a reason to vote me off.”
“Ethan. What about you? You’ve been a winner before. Feel confident now?”
Ethan shook his head no. “This is a game and I know I can’t play the way I did before but I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t be me tonight.”
“Joel. How will you vote tonight?”
“Based on personality.” Joel answered. “There were some conflicts in camp that I think that wasn’t suppose to happen, there were a few lies and cheating going around in camp so whoever I think falls in all those categories will deserve my vote.”
Rob looked at Joel and then Tammy and smiled.
“Rob, you are smiling back there. What’s up?”
“I just feel amused at how the tribe really is.” Rob answered cryptically. “We always want to show that we’re a united and nice tribe, that we get along with each other just fine but we aren’t. Just as Joel said, there were some lies done, but this is a game and its bound to happen.”
“With that.” Jeff announced. “It is time to vote. Joel, you’re up first.”
Joel stood up and went to the voting podium. As he stood there, he wrote down his obvious choice, Rob.
“He has bought the game in this tribe and I sure hope that everyone can see that.”
Colby followed him as Ethan then Tammy.
Rob was the fifth person to vote as he wrote down his choice this time, voting for Joel.
“Sorry dude but you’re way too competitive and a huge threat for me.” Rob stated as he smiled and placed the vote inside the urn.
Kelly, Lindsey and Tanya were the sixth, seventh and last persons to vote respectively.
As
the eight members of Sarstoon sat at the chairs, Jeff went to get the urn to
tally the votes. Joel looked at Rob, his greatest threat out here. Rob was
looking down at the floor. Tanya was looking at the fire, holding tightly
Lindsey’s hand.
“Let me remind you,” said Jeff, “That the person voted out must leave immediately.” He reached into the ballot box and pulled out the first vote.
“First vote...”
“Rob.”
Rob winced at the first vote. Having your name read first wasn’t the best sign at all. He sighed and gave it a rest. There are seven more votes anyways.
“Joel.”
Joel looked up and stared straight at the votes.
“Tanya.”
Tanya sighed. She was bound to receive votes. Lindsey however patted her on the knee and reassured her that she’s safe.
“Tanya.”
“Joel.”
Joel smiled and shook his head. This wasn’t what he was expecting the votes to go.
“Two votes, Joel and Tanya, one vote Rob.” Jeff announced as he opened the sixth vote.
“Joel.”
Joel looked down, disoriented. He already knew the result of this. Its as if the tribe had already spoken long enough.
Then Jeff finally pulled out the deciding vote.
“Second person voted out of Belize...”
Joel didn’t need to hear it. It was too much for his pride.
“Joel. I need you to bring me your torch.” Jeff announced as Joel smiled and stood up. No one reached out to hug him goodbye as he watched his torch extinguished.
And he was out of the game.
Jeff turned his attention to the tribe after seeing Joel be engulfed in by the darkness.
“Things are going to get ugly. Hope you guys patch up things.” Jeff stated. “Grab your torches and head back to camp. Good night.”
The tribe stood up as they went back to camp one by one. Tammy, Rob, Tanya, Lindsey, Ethan, Kelly and Colby.
It’s going to get ugly from now on.
