Rice husk is one of the agro-residues which is available from mills in relatively dry form .

Rice husk has so far been considered  as a cheap, abundantly available renewable fuel .

But using  rice husk to make a valuable product which can be used in many industries has

hardly been thought about.

Living in a rice producing country,  finding  that this is a terrible waste of resource ,I determined

to do some studies  on rice husk . After some years with the indispensable helps of my colleagues

and relatives, I found that we can make ACTIVATED CARBON from rice husk .

The applies of ACTIVATED CARBON are various ,and the price of ACTIVATED CARBON made

from rice husk  is very low , compared to other materials. Moreover , from the process of producing

ACTIVATED CARBON  from RICE HUSK I found that we can also get a  very useful sub-product .

That's Silicon SiO2.  With the purity of 97.3%  it can be used in semiconductor industry and many

other processes like producing SiC which I also practically  produced .

And here is the process I used : Rice husk--(Pyrolysis)-->Char1--(gasification with steam)-->Char2-

-(treatment with HCl)-->Char3--(Digestion with NaOH)-->Carbon--(activate with steam)-->ACTIVATED CARBON
