"ZV-375, text 4. On to 70%. Activate the specimen..."

It opened its eyes, and blinked once. The liquied it floated in swirled as it slowly tilted its head to look at who has spoken.
The lab coat clad felidae turned to look at her superior. "This is the last one...our highest hope."
It moved slightly agian, turning its attention from them to the inside of its environment. It was in somesort of tube, floating in a green-yellow liquid, apparently breathable.  Small wires twined around it's limbs, plugged into nodes in its back.  It followed the exit of the wires with its eyes blinking slowly.  They lead to a varietly of machines, displaying information and satistics.

"So this is the one." The othe lab coated one, the male with glasses remarked staring at the tube.
The female swallowed nervously fiddleing with her clipboard. "Yes sir."
"Has it got any of the qualities of 908, or 998?"
"We...we don't know yet sir. This is the closest we have gotten to full activation." She finally answered. "Tests still have to be run."
He watched the form in the tube as it slowly starts to move around. "Well then. Shut down, 90% of its current status. After we ...settle...our programming problems with the main 900, we'll adjust this one."

"Very well sir." She nodded to him before turning to the computer and typing in a command.

It blinked, feeling itself slowing down. The liquid began to turn gel like. It continued to slow down, until a moment before total blackness claimed it, it had its First Thought.
Deactivation.

Zircon looked at the still form, his fellow scientist now gone.
"So 999...we will have to see about you."
He left. Had he stayed, he might have seen 999's faint movement....
