Part Four: The Hellstar

She woke up, sweat soaking her clothing. Her hair was matted to her forehead. Something was amiss. She looked around quickly trying to gain a sense of where she was, but nothing helped. The strange room and the strange bed just made her wish to remember even more. What happened? she thought. The door opened slowly, a cloaked figure stepped inside. She let out a sigh of relief. The figure through back his cloak and sat by her bedside, smiling sadly. "What happened?" Terizla asked, more nervous than ever. "I found you in your lair, you were out cold." He answered, a concerned look spread across his face. "That was three days ago." "Shit!" Terizla exclaimed, jumping out of the bed. "Rain, why the hell didn’t you wake me up!?" Rain just shrugged and smiled enigmatically at her. "I thought you could use some rest and time to heal. You were a bloody mess when I found you and mumbling incoherently about fire and brimstone." Terizla jumped that. "Brimstone!?!?!?!? Was she there? Did you see her?" "Huh?" "Brimstone is #907. I found her when I was trying to get 908. She’s been with me for the past month. That’s why I haven’t been around here lately. Don’t want the kid hanging around nuts like you." "Ha ha ha, and did I mention ha?" "Oh come on Rain, you know I mean nothing bad by that, just that I don’t want any of my contacts being killed by the I.C. if the kid turns." "So you didn’t, mention Jade Grey, then, did you?" Rain asked, his interest getting the better of him. "Oh I had to mention her. Only way I could explain to the kid exactly what I do. I didn’t give locations though." Terizla said, curiously suspicious of Rain. "How about Deamon, then?" Rain asked, a smile spreading across his face. Terizla looked at him strangely. "Do you have a fever, or something? ‘Cause I know that I have told you that I you’re the only person who knows about my boss." "Oh" Rain said, sighing. Terizla was still not sure what had happened. "Rain, what the hell is up?! You know you can tell me anything. Sheesh! I mean what happened to you during that month I spent playing mom?" she asked, slightly concerned. Rain just threw his hands up into the air and stormed out of the room, Terizla on his heels. "What the hell is up your ass today, Hellstar?!?!?" she yelled. Rain spun around, his eyes blazing. "I’m sick of this, Teri! I’m sick of playing your older brother, best friend, partner, psychotherapist, and knight in shining armor all rolled into one! I mean you keep on changing what you want from me! God, Teri, can you please stop popping back up when I’m just about ready to restart my life!?!?!" he yelled. Terizla looked shocked. Her shock faded into anger. "Fine, Hellstar! Fine! You’ll be rid of me shortly! Actually to make you feel even better I think I’ll leave right now!" She snatched up her trenchcoat, bag, and swords, ran down the stairs, and through the door, slamming it loudly in her wake. Rain just stood there, shock still. "Teri! Wait! That’s not what I meant! Teri!" He ran out the door, looking for her, but she was gone.
