A Harry Potter Lunch Box Challenge Production

It all started on a dreary day in english class with our teacher absent yet again and boredom rearing it's ugly head.

Then an idea came out of nowhere: why not put names into a hat and write stories about the pairings that are picked randomly?

Alas, we had no hat. So instead we used a lunch box. Then we thought, 'what names should we put in?' and Harry Potter names were decided because we had all read those books.

After the names we drawn we settled in to write and after awhile it was decided that this idea was too good to keep silent about and we laboured mightily to bring it on to the internet.

And here we are.

And here are you.

Anyways, now that you know the back story, on to the rules.

Submission Rules - For Fanfiction

1. Submission may be either a fanfic.
-- Multichaptered fics require only the first chapter to be in on the submission date, you have until the next submission date to hand in the next chapter and so on and so forth.
-- Poetry, songfics, eulogies are allowing and counted as fics.
-- If the story is rated R or NC-17 detail such in your submission
-- Any rating below R leave blank.

2. Format for submission:
-- save it as a .doc or .txt file

3. All fics MUST have the following at the top of the fanfic submission.

Due Date: The date the submission is due.
Rating: (only if it's R or NC-17, don't put this if it's lower)

Submission Rules - For FanArt

1. Submission may be a picture.

2.-- all image responses are required to have the following in an accompaning .doc/.txt file:

3. Pictures may be explicit, I only ask that you label them as such.

Submitting Rules

1. Have your response in/on the due date. If you have been having problems contact me.

2. You may submit your response at any point after the day you recieve your new challenge.

General Rules

3. Use those basic spelling and grammar skills that you have learned.
-- NO spelling like: sux, or luv, or lol
-- Proper capitalization.
-- Sentence structure follows basic rules.
-- this does not include style-types, for instance my style is different from GiantKiller's grammar but both are understandable and clear.
-- I will not accept stories with grammar like: He then that flew. That is an exaggeration of course but the sentiment is true.

-- If English is not your first language and you are still just learning it, please either get an english speaking beta or contact me directly and if time permits I'll go over it.

4. Keep the characters in character, unless you have them under a spell or potion.

5. Keep the characters looking the way the are supposed too. Unless under a spell or potion. No Hermione, with the big bushy hair suddenly comes back after fifth year summer looking completely gorgeous and no one can resist her charms. DO NOT DO THIS.

6. AU's are permitted.

7. You cannot switch your pairing with someone else. I have a list and the submissions had better match up to the list.

8. If you don't want to write your pairing email with a better reason than: 'I can't think of anything' , 'I don't like slash/femslash/incest/het' , and 'I hate that character'. If you have an actual reason like: 'One character died before the other was born' (has happened, don't laugh), or if you haven't read the book one character shows up in then I'll consider re-doing your pairing and give you another.

9. Hero worship, idolizing, etc. counts as acceptable so long as there's some physical attraction in the idolizing/worshipping.

10. Be polite and respectful to other authors. No lording it over them or saying things like 'your story sucks'. You will be banned. We are all learner's and no one is better than anyone else.

11. Optional Challenges are for those who have submitted their actual challenge but don't want to start on their next due date challenge. You must apply directly to me to obtain an optional challenge.

12. NO Mary Sue's or Gary Stu's.

13. No self-insertions either.

14. If you can't finish your fic in the time alloted, contact me and we'll talk. Because one months is more than enough time to do a short story that doesn't have to be plot-filled, at least it seems that way to me.
