Crestfallen: Inception Act I Game Author: Lun Review by: Master of Time Let me start by just saying, Whoa. Graphics: 8/10 Lun used mostly the default tiles, but he added a few others. All in all it suits the way the game was carried out. Very nice. Sound: 10/10 The sounds in this game are used PERFECTLY. Especially in the Forest, the sounds will always fit the mood of the game. I recognized most of the MIDIs in the game, but they were used so well. I just hate it when a song doesn't fit the mood of the game but Lun is apparently very skilled at this. Game play: 10/10 I can't talk too much here without giving some stuff away but let's just say that the chase scene caught this reviewer WAY off guard, and resulted in about an hour or two extra used to finish the game. All the puzzles were well thought out and progressed in a logical way. Nothing felt out of place or unnecessary. Ending: ?/10 It doesn't seem like there was one but if there was, then I'm sorry but it is lacking here. Since I haven't played act II yet, this category shall be weighted as a 0. Sorry. Story Line: 6.5/10 Very well planned and carried out. However, the game itself has very, VERY little to do with the opening scenes, and that is a problem. A problem big enough to cost some points here. Maybe Act II will answer more? OVERALL: 8/10 An outstanding game in almost every respect. The lack of an ending doesn't hurt it all that much. Definitely the best RPG Maker 95 game yet. P.S. WHY IT DIDN'T GET A PERFECT SCORE: I feel that for a game to receive a perfect score, it should be perfect in any and all respects related to the way it was made. This game was extremely good, but I do think that RPG Maker 95 games can be pushed a little bit farther. |
